Poor and misleading communications

Bristol Office - Poor communications and difficult to get hold of. They have consistently failed to brief us adequately, they have mislead us in the claims process and failed to pass on the interim payment made by faulty appliance manufacturer. They have continuously moved the goalposts while the substantial amounts of interim funds have been sitting in their account while we suffer from loss of income and other significant difficulties. In the meantime we have been left with trying to manage a project without funds with escalating costs and contractors appointed to carry out the work have moved on. Keoghs promised and, indeed, sent paperwork to sign with the promise that the interim payment would be made so works could be completed. A more detailed private message highlighting our concerns is shown below but, unfortunately, there is nothing that has been positive about this experience and, hand on heart, we couldn't possibly recommend Keoghs to anyone.

Absolutely embarrassing excuse for a law firm!

Absolutely embarrassing excuse for a law firm!

Stay clear of this place full of people stealing a living! Especially if it’s ADAM TOMKIN, ABBIE WILDING, or LAUREN CHANCE!

Timeline of Events:
04/07/24: Instructed this firm for my insurance claim. My case handler was ABBIE WILDING, and I was emailed the "initial letter to policy holder" by CHLOE WOOD.
07/07/24: Sent over all evidence and completed forms by email.
19/07/24: After radio silence, I emailed CHLOE WOOD to chase a response or confirm receipt of my documents.
29/07/24: Finally received a reply from CHLOE WOOD, confirming receipt of my forms. She stated they were being reviewed by my file handler and that they were in communication with the third-party insurer. At this point, my file handler was still ABBIE WILDING, who had made zero contact with me in nearly a month.
Attempts to Follow Up:
Called repeatedly to chase updates, but receptionists always claimed everyone was "busy" or "in a meeting." On occasions where they attempted to transfer me, the call would ring endlessly before cutting off. This cycle happened every time I rang.

19/09/24: Frustrated, I submitted a formal complaint via email, CC'ing ADAM TOMKIN, ABBIE WILDING, and CHLOE WOOD.

A Brief Glimmer of Hope:
25/09/24: Received a call from ADAM TOMKIN. During our call, it became clear my forms and evidence submitted on 07/07/24 were nowhere to be found. My case had essentially been ignored for two months!

ADAM TOMKIN apologized and claimed to resolve the issue, assigning my case to LAUREN CHANCE and stating the third party had 14 days to respond. He also reassured me the evidence meant the third party had no chance and would likely settle. Based on this, I canceled my formal complaint.
Broken Promises:
17/10/24: After a month of no updates, I emailed ADAM TOMKIN directly for clarification. No reply.
26/11/24: Sent another email to ADAM TOMKIN informing him I would call the next day. Again, no response.
Annual Leave Nightmare:
Week of 09/12/24: While on annual leave, I called their office on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, only to encounter the same issues: receptionists transferring me to no one, leaving me on hold for minutes before being disconnected.

A receptionist eventually told me CHRIS PARKIN was the manager of ADAM TOMKIN, so I attempted to reach CHRIS PARKIN, LAUREN CHANCE, and ADAM TOMKIN on all four days. Unsurprisingly, no one was available.

Final Thoughts:
If you want even mediocre service, do not come anywhere near this law firm. Clueless receptionists, file handlers, and managers—absolute clowns.

USELESS

Firstly lets say that in my experience i have never been able to speak with the paralegal that was deputised to deal with my cases. Keogh has been responsible for delaying the process, having the documents in their hands for weeks but failing to forward to the counterpart and then lying about it. It looks like they take on too much work and simply cannot cope and as a result the quality of their work is ultimately negatively impacting the clients and the outcome of their cases. I have lodged a complaint, over a month ago. Not acknowledged yet and no response received either. This is costing me money. i will need to take this to the legal ombudsman

Car Insurance Claim

My insurers seemed to mishandle the matter from the start. This was a minor collision and I felt I was the innocent party. I was pursued by the other party and had to push my insurers to counterclaim. Only when they contacted Keoghs did any sense prevail. The support and guidance was first class - in 50+ years driving this is my 1st experience of these things - and the help I received from Jack Cormell was excellent. Outcome: 75% success in my favour and no court.
Highly recommend this firm
