I wouldn't reccomend Battrick Clark Solicitors Ltd

Engaging the services of Ruth (and Claudia) for my flat purchase was an experience that I believe needs to be shared, as I encountered issues with communication and transparency.
Initially, communication was satisfactory, with prompt responses to my queries. However, as time passed and we approached the end of purchase, communication began to falter. Delays in replies to my emails became common, and promises of updates by the end of the day went unfulfilled. Additionally, I was misled about the sellers' responses still pending when they had already been received.

After I signed the contract, transferred the deposit, and paid all the fees, there was more than a week-long silence from Ruth, leaving me unsure about the progress of the purchase and what steps to take next even if I sent her numerous emails. The estate agent even reached out, unable to get a hold of Ruth. I found myself constantly chasing for updates, lacking the proactive follow-up necessary from their end.

And to add to the frustration, the invoice amount did not align with the initial quote provided. Till date, no satisfactory explanation has been given as to why the final amount exceeded the original quote. I just know that I ended up paying three times the quoted price due to their repeated failure to conduct ID checks properly, despite me submitting the same documents each time.

If I were to require legal services again in the future, I would definitely seek assistance elsewhere rather than return to Battrick Clark Solicitors.

Truly the worst experience

The most innept solicitors I have ever dealt with. Zero communication, forgotten paperwork, extensive delays, multipul daily chasers required, abhorrent communication style when they did eventually respond. Committed to services they were unable to deliver causing considerable delays to time sensitive transactions. Made an already stressful process ten times harder

Worst Solicitors I've come across

Currently dealing with them for a purchase and a sale of a property. I've been begging for a phonically with the solicitor to discuss the respective deals. I've had no feed back from them whatsoever. I've emailed them on numerous occasions, called their offices have yet to speak to the person representing me. Totally bizarre. We were supposed to have exchanged contracts this week, and we're nowhere near. The buyers are getting cold feet and rightly so. I'd stay away from them.

Lack of communication

As a summary "the Home Office is by comparison the epitome of customer service".
Absent communication for weeks at times. Duplicated requests. Issues with incorrect names and figures (quite important when talking about large sums for a private individual)

Not helpful at all - possibly I was just unlucky with the person assigned to my case.

The worst and most painful conveyancing firm

I am still traumatised years later by the poor service we received, lack of communication, no responses to emails and even when they were visably in the office they would ask for you to leave a message. Always ‘out of the office’ and once said we were ready to exchange when we really were not. Made the whole process stressful.
