Jeremy Horton

Solicitor - Partner

SRA ID: 156460

Jeremy is the lead Partner of Brachers’ Personal Injury and Industrial Disease team. He specialises in serious and complex personal injury claims for claimants. Jeremy is the only APIL Accredited Asbestos Disease Specialist in Kent, Medway, Essex, Sussex and Surrey. For seven years he worked for defendants/insurers. Since 1999 he has acted predominantly for claimants. He now specialises mostly in mesothelioma and other asbestos disease claims where he has an outstanding track-record. Although mostly acting for claimant, he still sometimes represents uninsured defendants, e.g. those facing historic asbestos and deafness claims, helping them trace their insurers or defend/settle the claim as economically as possible Having acted for both sides, Jeremy has a good understanding of the way his opponents are thinking. He is a member and accredited Senior Litigator of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers and is currently the only solicitor in Kent, Medway, Essex, Sussex or Surrey to be accredited by them as an Occupational and Asbestos Disease Specialist

I couldn’t fault the team at Brachers for their help with a compensation claim regarding my late husband.

Efficient, friendly service

Jeremy gave me straight forward honest information and advice. He was very knowledgeable on the subject and took our case over after we had received useless information from a local solicitor who had cost us dearly and basically told us to settle. Jeremey fought our corner and successfully got the case withdrawn. Efficient, friendly service. Always answered the phone and emailed back swiftly. Spoke in simple terms and explained things thoroughly.

I have been trying to pursue a medical negligence claim for some time now and this keeps being delayedt by my doctor/consultants coming up with new excuses and recently I was mis diagnosed, I contacted this solicitors to try and take action against the party's concerned and highlighted the moving goal post I had experience. And this was why my original issue was several years ago and it is because I am now aware that there is an issue as they keep coming up with new excuses which I have to research to clarify the ventality of the doctors or hospitals claims. And so when I become aware that there can new claims are not valid this is from the date that the three years date applies. Having spoken to young lady she asked me which having spoken to young lady she asked me which trusts or hospitals etc was I looking to seek redress with. I mentioned the hospitals and she clearly stated that the firm could not pursue a claim in my case as it was a conflict of interest. This is the most honest that has solicitor has been with me in regard to this matter most just say I cannot help you goodbye. as you only have a set period of time to take the case to court this is disgusting I'm hats off to this company for stating that it was a conflict of interest and they are now going to recommend solicitors out of the area who may be able to assist me and I am waiting her email as I write this. They seem to have good integrity.

Thank you for your feedback with your experience. On occasion we find that a conflict of interest stops us from acting on behalf of certain individuals or companies. In cases such as this we endeavour to be as transparent and helpful as we can. Hopefully in your case we are able to offer you some suitable alternatives. Many thanks again for taking the time to provide us with a review.

The team was led by Jeremy Horton who undertook my case of depression against my employers. This ran over 10 years and Jeremy and his team was brilliant. They kept me up to date as what was happening, the preparation of all the legal paperwork that seemed to run into volumes. The barrister they employed was fantastic and even when it was necessary they went back to court and appealed. Working continuous for such a long period and never giving up, always having the end result in mind. I cannot see anyone could have asked for better.
