Victoria has worked in the legal sector since she was 16. Working initially as an office junior, she progressed through legal secretary and paralegal before qualifying as a member of the institute of Legal Executives in 1997 and being admitted as a fellow in 1999. Victoria specialises in all aspects of Family Law, including divorce, finances, domestic abuse, the Children’s Act and mediation. Victoria joined Susan Howarth & Company in January 2005 and was appointed a Director in 2017. Victoria is a Resolution-trained Mediator, a Resolution Accredited Specialist in Domestic Violence and Children Law (private), an FMC Accredited Family Mediator (all issues) and is the practice Supervisor for CQS accreditation. Committed, compassionate and honest is how clients frequently describe Victoria as she is incredibly dedicated and has an extraordinary work ethic, often ‘going that extra mile’ for her clients. For Victoria, it’s simple – her focus is on making a difference and helping her clients when they are often at their most vulnerable. Outside of work, Victoria is a busy mum of two and owns a cavapoo and a cat, so life revolves around her family. When she’s lucky enough to grab some ‘me time’, Victoria loves diving into anything written by Lee Child or David Baldacci. An interesting ‘did you know’ fact about Victoria: she holds a motorbike licence! Expertise: - Divorce - Separation Agreements - Financial Settlements - Child Arrangements incl. contact arrangements, residence; and Prohibited Steps/Specific Issue - Domestic Abuse/Violence - Pre-marital/post-marital agreements - Civil Partnership dissolution - Cohabitation Agreements and unmarried couples - Mediation

My experience with Susan Howarth solicitors was exactly what I needed.
They were helpful and available at all times and they explained in plain English the technical law terms that were used so that they made sense to a layman like myself.
Victoria Poole kept me informed at all stages and helped me understand the process I was going through.
They are a solicitor's that I will have no difficulty recommending to family and friends.
Many thanks for your feedback Gary - some of us at SH&Co. are laymen too, so we know exactly what you mean about the legal jargon! We're so glad that Victoria put you at ease and helped clarify the process for your case. With Kind Regards, SH&Co.

The support given throughout was second to none. Having worked with Victoria before, it was never in question that I sought her support again.
From start to finish, processes were outlined and clear. Open communication along the way and honest responses to questions asked.
The service received was nothing short of outstanding.
Thank you to the rest of the team at Susan Howarth too, for their services and dedication.
Without hesitation, I would recommend Victoria and the team at Susan Howarth.

By the time my divorce and settlements were achieved, I felt that the firm were friends. The way they listened, giving me as always, a compassionate ear.

Thank you, Be proud.
I had visited a wealth of solicitors prior to meeting you, trying unsuccessfully to obtain legal aid with my enormous file and shattered heart. Each time I arrived during the free half hour intervals, I cried so much. After half an hour was up I was shown the door politely with no success. I then met with you and you never timed me, you demonstrated empathy and compassion and successfully obtained legal aid when no one else could and have been very patient. X and I are extremely grateful for your dedication and kindness. We appreciate everything you have carried out and I will stay in touch. You have made a difference. If I can do anything for you, I am here in any way. Warmest affections and blessings xx

Very much relieved and happy
I just want to thank you personally Vicky for all your help and guidance over the last few months and taking over my divorce/finances case and supporting me with dealing my difficult husband. I admit I was getting very stressed and unhappy and losing my faith that this would never be over but then you took over my case and everything got sorted with him correctly, sternly and swiftly. Even when out of the office, Susan kindly stepped in and provided help and guidance to me as I had no idea of the whole process and was feeling bullied by my husband - I can’t thank you and Susan enough for dealing with him. I will now be recommended you personally to any family or friends that need a solicitor especially if it involves an ex-husband like mine. Thank you.

Divorce Matter
I was recommended to Susan Howarth & Co by a family friend following the break-up of my marriage in early 2008. I booked an appointment with Vicky Poole for an initial consultation with regards to my impending divorce. I was at a particularly low point during my first meeting with Vicky. I can remember it to this day as I could hardly look her in the face due to the embarrassment of sitting in front of someone to give me advice on potentially getting divorced. I say potentially as Vicky was very clear that we should only go down this route if there was no alternative and no chance of reconciliation. I always found Vicky extremely fair, understanding, caring and knowledgeable in all aspects of family law, my divorce from where I was sitting was acrimonious and long winded but she supported me every step of the way with superb advice and knowledge of the legal system: what I could do, ask for and agree too which wouldn’t be to my detriment at that point or in the future. From where I was sat in our meetings Vicky always believed in me and that actually meant a lot, when others didn’t, she did and that has fostered an excellent working relationship with her and I will always stop to say hello if we cross paths and what I do think is fantastic is that she always asks about not only my welfare but the children. Finally it is coming up to 10 years since we first sat down together and in that time I’ve come along way, but for any legal advice Vicky is always my first port of call and always will be.

A credit to Susan Howarth & Co and to her profession.
Victoria is one of those rare people who are willing to go that extra mile for others, giving so much of herself. I would never have any hesitation recommending Victoria, and in fact have done so. Her compassion, honesty and work ethic are to be applauded as is her commitment to others.
