Excellent, professional, responsive and compassionate
I would like to express my thanks to Kamran Chughtai for his excellent handling of probate for my late father. Kamran has a brilliant work ethic, is extremely responsive, skilled, knowledgeable and very professional. I felt that I could call him up with any query and he would get back to me straight away. He was also very sensitive and compassionate given the very difficult circumstances of dealing with my father's estate. I would wholeheartedly recommend Kamran to anyone wanting a hard working, responsive and all-round excellent solicitor and cannot thank him and his assistant, Nicola, enough.

Smooth and Efficient

Deceased Estate of our dearly departed Christopher Charles Presland
My beloved son Christopher died tragically whilst with us in South Africa on holiday together with his partner, Jennifer. To make an unbearable situation worse, Chris died intestate. Under UK Law his estate had to pass through the UK Probate Court.
With Jennifer acting as my POA in the matter, it naturally took time to follow the Probate process. On recommendation from Jennifer and her parents, Thackray Williams LLP were appointed Solicitors. At all times during the 27 month process, they acted professionally with patience, compassion, kindness and sensitivity to bring the matter to a successful completion. Without their dedicated efforts we would never have found some closure. Sincere thanks and deep gratitude to the team at Thackray Williams.

Inheritance Tax Return
My mother’s will was drawn up by Thackray Williams in 2006, so we called them following her death. Following an excellent Teams meeting with Elliot Lewis and Kamran Chughtai and as a joint executor with one of my sisters we had no hesitation in asking Thackray Williams to represent us. I was solely involved with the completion of IHT400 and following an in-person meeting and subsequent phone call with Kamran I was able to understand the significance of the Unused Nil Rate Band along with the Residence Nil Rate Band introduced by George Osborne. Completion was quite complex as it was necessary to submit an additional seven IHT forms other than IHT400. Fortunately my mother kept meticulous records which included weekly bank statements which went back to 2016. Without these and guidance from Kamran IHT403 would have been impossible to compute. Thanks to all the advice from Kamran I was able to complete and submit all the forms myself. I was even confident enough to contact and successfully challenge an unwarranted tax demand from HMRC.

Administration of estate
Kamran worked on the estate, of my aunt, over many months. The estate was a complicated one and Kamran was very professional and helpful throughout the whole procedure.
I would not hesitate to recommend him in the future.
