Robert Small
Robert handled a dispute on my behalf. His deep experience was essential and his expertise was superb. I was not the easiest client as I got frustrated by legal procedures and the time taken to progress. On a number of occasions Robert patiently guided me onto the correct path in order to avoid legal mistakes and unnecessary costs. To conclude: most importantly, I always felt Robert was looking after my best interests and I would not hesitate to fully recommend him.

Quality of renovation dispute.
Rob Small. Was so professional for us. He listened to our issues and thoroughly read our correspondence and dealt with our issues in a way that made us feel safe and well represented, if the need was to arise. He made us aware of any repercussions that may occur should we wish to proceed. Thank you Rob.

Excellent service and result

Superb.
We were placed in a hideous situation. We sold a horse that proved to be unsuitable to the buyer. Taking the horse back and refunding the money was not satisfactory for the buyer. She decided to take us to court for all the transportation costs, the livery costs for the time she had the horse and a range of associated expenses which were at best spurious.
My wife and I had absolutely no idea what to do, we are not professionals and our horses are really family pets, we just have too many.
We were recommended to speak to Robert Small. Following a brief conversation I furnished Robert with all the relevant bits and pieces.
Within a couple of days Robert had prepared a defence and even more importantly gave my myself and my wife a huge feeling of confidence. From that moment on I absolutely knew we had made the right choice and felt absolutely certain we were in safe hands.
Without dragging out the painful details of the case I would like to point out that Robert handled everything, he predicted every move the woman and her lawyer would make before they made it. His letter writing was on another level, so much so that the woman completely capitulated and dropped the case.
I cannot speak highly enough of Robert's professionalism, knowledge and calm, considered council. I thoroughly recommend getting him on your side or if he is acting for your adversary, then I'm sorry.

Exceptional service
Robert at Downie and Gadban Solicitors supported us in resolving a historic dispute over a period of about a year. Robert met all my expectations of a solicitor; efficient, professional, knowledgeable and punctual. His explanations were clear, he was always prepared to reexplain if required and this was never too much trouble. For all those reasons should we need a solicitor in his area of speciality we would certainly return. However, more than anything we were grateful for Roberts unwavering patient and kindness. I found the process very stressful and always left conversations with Robert feeling much calmer and able to rationalise. Robert made a very difficult experience much easier.

Great advice delivered clearly.
We received clear advice from Robert Small who steered us through a particularly difficult residents' management company issue.
He was always supportive but at times, quite rightly, challenging to us to ensure that we had considered the risks and possible impact of any decisions we were considering.
All actions were followed up in a timely manner and with great professionalism.

Difficult Case, Excellent Result
Robert Small is a a highly experienced and extremely capable solicitor who helped me on a very unusual and difficult case. English is not my first language yet he took the time to help me and explain everything in detail. He shows empathy whilst being very pragmatic and realistic in his approach. We won the day.

Professional and Informative
I cannot fault the service offered by Downie & Gadban. I never had to chase for information or progress on my case; updates were regular and informative. I always knew what the next phase of the process was going to be and the potential outcomes.

Money claim
From the point of initial advice thru to conclusion of this case I would rate the service and advice I received as first class.
Mr Robert Small was very professional , honest and candid with me. I was kept informed and updated on both fees and process throughout the entire claim.
