Property sale and probate
All the staff I had the pleasure of working with during probate and the sale of my late mother's bungalow were very kind ,supportive and professional I'm every way . At such a very sad time .

Highly recommended
Meg was absolutely fantastic. Supported my sister and I throughout the inheritance tax / probate process after the death of our parents. We really appreciated her professional approach and the speed at which she completed the process. All queries were answered by return and Meg helped us through a very difficult period in our lives with her clarity and approachable manner.

Exceptional service
Our main contact with Elite Law is via Meg Wilton. We have now utilised her advice and services for several family matters including wills, trusts (involving assignments and loans,) and probate. She and her team have always delivered an exceptional and expedient service at fees we consider to be fair and competitive. We would rather pay a tad more for a reliable, personal, engaged, and expedient service than one that turns out not to be. We have recommended several friends to Meg and to date feedback from all of them has been very good. Pleased at our recommendation.

Making a Will and Probate
I was introduced to Meg Wilton from Elite Law Solicitors based in Leighton Buzzard Bedfordshire
as I needed legal help after the unexpected death of my husband in September 2022. Having a
Will in place helped to start with, but I wanted to ensure that my only daughter had an up to date Will
and I needed a Probate for property in Spain. I also needed advice regarding other matters.

Lovely & Incredibly Helpful.
I was given Megs name when my husband sadly died, never the best start to meet your new solicitor, but I can say without a shadow of a doubt that Meg was, and is brilliant.
She was so helpful and very kind, something you need when your clients head is all over the place and its the first time that you have had to deal with something this daunting.
I am certain that there are many solicitors out there that are great, but I know that my family and I felt and indeed knew that we were in safe hands.
We will continue to ask Meg to help in any further dealings as there is obviously no one better in our minds.

Would use again
Meg streamlined the process dealing with my parents estates and trust matters simultaneously with the added complexity of a beneficiary being tax domiciled on France. Communication with Meg was prompt, professional and easily understood, which made life easy. Meg was recommended to us, and we in turn would recommend Meg.

Probate stress removed
I wasn't expecting my late husband's estate having to go to probate. I was very anxious and totally stressed as this had a knock-on effect on other financials. From the moment I was recommended Meg Wilton all the stress was removed, which was a huge relief. Communication with Meg was professional and a total relief.

Complex conveyancing? No problem….
We commissioned Jenny Page the Licensed Conveyancer at Elite Law solicitors in Hitchin to assist in resolving an unexpected serious problem with our original solicitors in securing the first voluntary registration at the Land Registry (HMLR) of our home.
In the midst of administering our submission, our original solicitors’ practice was closed following an intervention by the Solicitors Regulation Authority. Despite vigorous enquiries, we were subsequently unable to locate the original documents proving the ownership of our house that we had lodged with our original solicitors in support of our application. To complicate matters further, HMLR issued a series of requisitions about our application that could only be answered by direct reference to our original documentation.
Jenny immediately understood the problem and with cool and calm efficiency embarked with us on a recovery programme involving carefully considered contacts with the SRA over our missing documents and HMLR over securing additional time for their requisitions to be addressed. After several months of patient enquiry, we succeeded in finding and securing the return of our documents and Jenny was able to resubmit our application to the HMLR and to secure a prompt and successful registration.
Throughout, Jenny was kind, thoughtful and thoroughly professional. Her handling of this complex issue was exemplary and her calm and considered manner was throughout a source of much comfort to us.
We are eternally grateful to Jenny, as also to Meg Wilton who made the introduction and to Elite Law for all their support.
