My partner and I recently bought our first home and used Barcan & Kirby as our solicitors. We are extremely happy with their service. Being a first time buyer we quite literally had no idea what we were doing. Maggie and Emma guided us through the process and didn't make us feel like any of the questions we asked were stupid (which some of them most probably were). From friends and family's stories about buying properties the advice I was given was to 'keep on at the solicitors' however I didn't need to as they kept us informed every step of the way.
I would absolutely recommend this firm to anyone for a solicitor.

I needed to buy the remaining percentage of my house via Staircasing. Barcan+Kirby were excellent, I had no problems at all.

Both Emma Cox and Maggie Hayward managed the sale of my house and purchase of another. They were careful, meticulous in terms of checking and correcting legal documents and processes. I have always been pleased with the service provided by Barcan and Kirby. I think Maggie Hayward and Emma Cox make a good team. If one was on leave the other would always answer any queries. All my emails were replied to in a timely manner. I was also impressed that both of them dealt with emails out of hours or at weekends when there was a heavy workload in the office although I wonder whether the firm could employ additional staff to help them out at busy times. I am very pleased with my new home and grateful for their help in guiding me through the sales process.

Conveyancing
This is the second time we have used Barcan+Kirby, once to buy, once to sell, and the conveyancing team are fantastic. Maggie Hayward and Emma were super-efficient, thought of everything, and made what seemed like problems really easy to negotiate. Everything was done ahead of time, and it was nice to feel so confident all was being done properly and efficiently.

Excellent conveyance service
Maggie Hayward and her conveyance team at Barcan & Kirby acted in the purchase of a property for my Aunt. At the age of 74 she became a first time buyer and Maggie was excellent at guiding her through the entire process. She was friendly, efficient and supremely professional in the face of some unexpected challenges. Even with a significant case load she acted swiftly and resolved issues without delay or drama. I would recommend Maggie for any further conveyance needs my family and friends might have and indeed based upon her service would recommend the practice overall.
