Ishbel Saward

Trainee Solicitor

Ishbel joined BEST Solicitors as a Trainee Solicitor in October 2021. She is currently seated in the Criminal Defence Department where she will remain until December 2022. Originally a science graduate, Ishbel holds a BSc (Hons) from the University of Sheffield. After a career break to raise her young children, she returned to university and converted to law. In 2019 she passed the GDL with commendation. Two years later she gained a distinction in the LPC. She is also the winner of The University of Sheffield’s Sidney Herbert Clay prize, awarded to the most successful candidate on the LPC. Ishbel provides support to the Crown Court team litigating a wide range of complex cases. Before joining BEST Solicitors, Ishbel gained experience employed as a Crown Court caseworker at a firm specialising in criminal defence. Ishbel is also a probationary police station representative and advises clients at the police station. Ishbel is due to qualify as a solicitor in October 2023.
