Excellent conveyancing

Not the fastest or most responsive practice .......
The sole solicitor dealing with my house purchase was very diligent in reviewing the various documents and very easy to deal with; at first. After a short while his enthusiasm and responsiveness waned dramatically. What we were advised would take 2 to 3 months has taken almost 6 months. Most of this time was spent waiting, not knowing what was going on, not knowing what we had to do and getting little or no response to emails or phone calls. I complained to the Manager who laughed and said it's because of staff shortages and the chap doing our work was busy elsewhere. The final problem upon completion was to find that we had been charged several hundred pounds which the other party had originally agreed to pay. After months of being messed about we lost the will to argue and paid it just to avoid further delay in getting our home. The whole process of dealing with this company has been miserable and stressful.

We are very sorry to see from your review that your experience has not been a good one. However, what initially appeared to be a fairly straightforward matter became rather more complicated as the transaction progressed which meant inevitable delays and an increased fee as a Deed of Variation was required which granted was not ideal from your point of view. We also take on board that there were some communication issues and this was indeed discussed by yourself with our Managing Partner Bernadette who pointed out that we were having some staffing issues (now resolved) within the office which was probably the cause of the delays in communication. Bernadette felt this was a very light hearted, pleasant and lengthy conversation as you had said that you did not want complain about Kenneth you just wanted to give him a push. Please be assured that any complaints are taken very seriously by Bernadette and as soon as the conversation was finished she took the matter up with Kenneth, she heard nothing further therefore thought any issues had been resolved.

Always excellent care
I have been looked after by the staff at John Welch and Stammers since 1962.
Over the years, various members of staff have dealt with the affairs of my family through deaths, adoption, house purchases/sales and Wills always with care and patience. I would not consider going elsewhere.

Efficient conveyancing service
Kenneth Skinner was communicative when required and generally easy to get in touch with and speak to. He answered emails and questions relatively quickly and represented us well ans efficiently during the sale of our property. He demonstrated good legal knowledge and experience.

Quality service both times
We have just sold our first house and in January completed on our second house. Kenneth Skinner acted for us. He was extremely professional and talked us through the whole process and made it stress free. This was our second time using JW&S, quality service both times.
