Chris joined Barrett and Co as a Trainee Solicitor in July 2016 before qualifying as Dispute Resolution Solicitor with the firm on completion of his training contract in July 2018. He now works alongside Justin Sadler in the Litigation Department on a wide range of civil litigation matters including Debt Collection and possession claims, as well as assisting with contentious probate matters. Chris grew up in Reading before attending Aberystwyth University in Wales where he graduated in Law in 2013. He then travelled to Washington, D.C in the United States and spent a summer working as an intern for a Member of the US Congress. Following his internship, Chris returned to the UK and started his Master of Law and Legal Practice Course at the University of Law in Guildford, which he completed in 2015. He then worked for Reading Borough Council as a paralegal in the Joint Legal Team for 15 months before joining Barrett & Co to begin his training contract. Outside work Chris is actively involved in dry slope ski racing and is currently Vice Chair of Berkshire Race Squad, who are based in Bracknell. He is also a qualified race official and has officiated at both regional and national level. He also enjoys watching sport (with a particular interest in football and NFL), travelling and maintains an interest in current affairs on both sides of the Atlantic.
