Specialising in all manner of construction procurement and having extensive experience of a wide range of sectors, I advise national and regional developers, employers, funders, contractors and consultant clients in relation to commercial and residential development, healthcare, leisure, retail, education and infrastructure projects. I have expertise in the procurement, drafting and negotiating of all forms of construction documentation; including industry standard (JCT, NEC etc) or bespoke forms of contract, consultants’ appointments (RIBA, RICS, ICE etc), development agreements, novation agreements, letters of intent, collateral warranties, third party rights, letters of reliance, parent company guarantees and performance bonds. I have many years of experience acting on behalf of high street funders, challenger banks, private funders and borrowers in respect of development finance. In addition, I often support and advise clients and the professional team in respect of the effect of the construction documentation during the lifecycle of the project. I am a visiting lecturer at Birmingham City University having also lectured at Aston University. I am actively engaged in the construction industry having previously chaired or sat on strategic boards for a number of industry specific and best practice organisations.
