The best solicitor for a house purchase....by far
Mark and his team at David Barney and Co. are the best solicitor I have ever used when buying a house...by far.
I can't stress this next bit enough - Mark and his team were an absolute dream to deal with. I wish all companies worked like David Barney!
Everything was handled quickly, efficiently and accurately. Everyone was very friendly, professional and helpful. They all made me feel a very valued client. They certainly provided excellent value for money for their services. Even when issues were created by other solicitors in the chain (which you always get), providing a massive "headache" for Mark, Mark was always very good at chasing the solicitors, remained very good humoured and spirited throughout.
I have had the privilege to deal with many exceptionally good blue chip companies in my career, and I can confidently say Mark and his team at David Barney are up there at the top with the very best companies I have ever dealt with.
I will certainly deal with Mark and the David Barney team again in the future for my next house purchase.

The best solicitor I have ever used
Without doubt, the best solicitor I have ever used. David Barney Solicitors put a lot of effort into making my house purchase run smoothly, keeping me well informed throughout the process.
The entire team at David Barney were a dream to deal with – they were always swift at responding, and were very professional, friendly and courteous. I have had a lot of experience in business working with many very high performing companies over the years, and I have to say the way the David Barney team work together to get the job done, I would firmly place David Barney amongst the very best companies that I have ever dealt with.
If I ever move house again, I will use David Barney without hesitation.

Amazing firm. Really impressed

Absolutely sensational
I was always hoping that our experience buying our first house might break the stigma of “it’s one of the most stressful things in life”. Unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. However, Mark had been my knight in shining armour and kept me sane, particularly, throughout the last few weeks to completion.
Mark and his team had been brilliant. They were personable, patient, kind and empathetic. But more importantly, treated us like ordinary people. With my past experience of other solicitors, there was no arrogance at all. Just lovely lovely people.
Mark and his team helped me understand any terms that needed an explanation. Answered any of the 100s of questions I asked clearly.
Right from the beginning, they kept our case moving quickly. Our ID and documentation checks were complete within a week. Our BACs payment was paid and we were ready for the draft contacts within 1 month. There were no delays on their behalf at all. Mark unfortunately experienced an important family matter, but he still prioritised us. That is something you really do not come by anymore.
I knew I had instructed the right team when my granddad told me they used David Barney & Co back in 1968. A company can only last that long when they employ the right people.
In future, I will only ever use Mark and his team. They have gained my loyalty forever!

Overwhelmed by the speed, compassion, competence and of this company
Exceptional service rare to find these days. Mine was a purchase of a corporate sale so speed was needed and they didn’t disappoint. I am overwhelmed by the speed, precision and friendliness of mark feely at David Barney & co and they have restored my faith in conveyancing in 2025 - I asked lots of questions and needed lots of reassurance they were constantly there with answers to help with my anxiety. I was provided with a mobile number and felt well looked after and up to date often. I highly recommend Mark for quick purchases - he doesn’t hang around. . Time scale =Completed 25 days of receiving the paperwork from the other side! I’m over the moon. Thank you so much for taking care of business so well. You’re worth more than 5 stars & a credit to your profession !

The fabulous Mark Feely
We recently used them for our home purchase, and we couldn’t be more pleased with the service we received. From start to finish, they were professional, efficient, and incredibly supportive throughout the entire process.
One of the standout aspects of working with Mark was his availability and guidance. Unlike some solicitors who can be hard to reach, he or his great team were always accessible to answer our questions, provide clear guidance, and ensure we fully understood each stage of the transaction. Their communication was excellent, which made the process far less stressful.

Would Recommend
Mark was incredibly friendly and helpful. We had a few bumps along the way towards the end of our conveyancing, but Mark jumped on it and sorted it. He was very easy to get hold of and even said we could contact him whilst he was travelling to France! It really helped to have someone there to talk us through the process, and he made it feel very personal to us and our needs. I was probably a bit anxious during the process and emailed Mark quite a lot…he never once came across as annoyed even though I’m sure I was a bit over zealous! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Mark to someone else.

Selling my parents home
My sister and I needed to sell our parents home following them having to move into a care home, and chose Mark Feely was very highly recommended by a family member.
We had a difficult journey with buyers and buyers solicitors. Mark was amazing and dealt with everything, and rather than playing pass the email back and forth, he talked to people and resolved the endless issues as they arose.
He took time to ask as to how our parents were doing and could not have been more kind and supportive to us at this very difficult time. We wish we could give more than five stars.
