Kirstie is a partner in the Family department at Thomson Snell & Passmore. Kirstie helps clients with all aspects of family work. She is a qualified solicitor and mediator and her work includes divorce, financial settlements, arrangements for children, cohabitee matters and pre and postnuptial agreements. She is an accredited mediator who is qualified to see children as part of the mediation process. Kirstie always aims to minimise the financial and emotional cost of divorce and focuses on finding the best outcome for the individuals involved. She works closely with clients and couples, when seeing them in mediation, to understand their individual situations and priorities. She never loses sight of the fact that if there are children then they are the most important consideration. Kirstie, as well as being a solicitor and mediator, is also a collaborative lawyer and chair of the West Kent and East Sussex Collaborative Law POD. Having been one of the first in the country to complete the collaborative training (back in 2004), she has been responsible for encouraging others in the area to train and is a big fan of resolving cases collaboratively round the table, working with both parties and the lawyers to establish solutions that will work for the whole family going forward. When needed, Kirstie is also confident to take cases to court and argue her client’s case appropriately.
