We a problem with the lost original Will, which was problematic, and took a while to sort out. Tim was very clear and professional explaining the process and his communication throughout was excellent.

Biscoes bought the solicitor who had completed my mum's will. When she passed, I met with a solicitor who asked me to bring in all the paperwork, bank statements etc, which I did about a week later. I didn't hear from them for some time, so I called back, and he said "Well we're waiting for your paperwork". Turns out it was on a shelf in reception, having not been passed on.

We noticed some irregularities in the way the will was drafted, and asked to see the Will file. This was promised, but didn't arrive. On my 3rd time of calling, I was told that the solicitor had left the business, and was passed on to his former assistant, who had apparently been asked to send the documentation. She said she had never been asked, but would do it now. The next time I called back, she had also left the business, and will and probate services were being closed down at that office. I continued to be given the runaround, including excuses about documents in transit, for several weeks more, before I made a complaint. Then I was called by their head of probate, with lots of apologies, who assured me that he was personally seeing to it that the documents would be sent immediately. On the next call, after nothing was sent, he told me the documents were being translated from an old system by their IT department. Finally, a couple of weeks later, he admitted that the original solicitor did not have the Will file, which is how I am sure that he lied - non existent documents were not being translated from an old system.

A combination of shambolic and untruthful is not what you want from your lawyer. I would not step over their threshold again and would advise anyone else not to either.
