I did not feel that my initial instructions were taken into account for this purchase. The advise was to use the management company and property agents experience to purchase a vacant holiday let. This took over 6mths to complete.

If I could leave a zero-star rating, I most certainly would. I strongly do not recommend this firm to anyone, particularly for buying or selling a house. The poor service and lack of proactive progress, especially from Barbara, have been incredibly frustrating and disappointing. Our experience has been nothing short of unacceptable.
Our emails and questions often go unanswered, and we're constantly given false promises followed by vague information or updates. This experience has been frustrating and unprofessional.

We've used Holley and Steer for all of our general solicitor needs for nearly 15 years now. They are very competitively priced on conveyance and we've used them for wills and other small needs too. They are a traditional firm so expect high-quality paper by post and your emails to be printed out. They are good a responding to all sorts of queries and will remain our firm of choice.

The house sale took many months. I was not kept informed of progress.
I was asked for my bank details even though I had already sent them.
Confirmation was not given that some important documents had been received.

We used Holley and Steer for our conveyancing for our recent house sale. I cannot recommend them enough. Barbara was extremely prompt with the never ending questions from our buyers solicitors (Merryweather) and she was extremely patient with them. She kept me informed and was able to deal with problems extremely quickly and professionally despite a tight deadline. Due to the government tax break for house buyers in 2021 the company was extremely busy and met the demand by working Saturdays and late evenings (unlike Merryweather solicitors who's secretary was away on holiday for a week and thus nothing got done for a while!!!). Extremely happy with Holley and Steer and would recommend them to anyone looking for conveyancing work.

Barbara Cromey dealt with the sale of a property in Hutton for us and the speed and efficiency with which she concluded the sale was outstanding.
