Domestic Abuse Support
I went to Couchman & Hanson at the reccomention of a local on my community board.
I was dealing with seperation from an abusive ex partner I have to co-parent with, having a previous court order that did not protect us from his continued post-relationship abuse.
I am also currently low income/was working two jobs.
Louise was my solicitor and absolutely wonderful. From patient and understanding, to empathetic, firm, and honest. She explained things thoroughly to me and was realistic, guiding me through the process and helping navigate through a really tough time.
She supported my mental health that was suffering from the continued abuse, and when possible she would advocate on my behalf, dealing with my very difficult ex partner who likes to focus on any ambiguous language or anything equivocal, making following my then current court order very very difficult and distressing.
Through several months Louise supported my children and myself, sorting out drafting new court orders, prepping me for court and getting my children back from my ex partner when he was pushing boundaries. She dealt with him name calling, conescending and baiting; and the general covert narcissism that is often overlooked.
She was able to get as much specificity as possible (due to the judges disgression) added to my court order, to decrease the 'parental conflict' and protect me from continued abuse. She also guided me to a very talented and kind Barrister who did her best to reduce his access to myself, and put up with me crying my eyes out after court.
I honestly don't think I would be as emotionally and mentally healthy right now, if it weren't for Louise. She went above and beyond trying to support me and at her job, and I truly appreciate all she did.
I would recommend Couchman and Hanson to anyone suffering from domestic abuse, post-relationship abuse or general seperation.

Professionally empathetic, efficient and knowledgeable.
I highly recommend Louise and Couchman-Hanson Ltd to provide professional services needed. During the period of time I utilised the services I was treated with respect, understanding a professional courtesy. Which I found valuable and much needed.

Divorce Advice
Had an excellent meeting there with my eldest daughter, got lots of information pointing me in the right direction. Explaining everything I needed to know and do in the future, highly recommend them saying a big thank you to Louise. Process stalled at the moment awaiting action from separated wife before I go further.

Personal, experienced, pracical
Nikki and Louise have helped me with family law issues for the last 4 year offering advise and assisting me directly with court proceedings. Child arrangements hearings
In my experience the legal process for women fleeing DV especially those who flee with children is nothing less than harrowing, the process is lengthy, traumatising and expensive. However if you must go through it I can’t express enough how much of a difference good legal representation can make. Having had experience with other law firms also.. I can honestly say Louise was miles and miles better. She was knowledgable, efficient, friendly and reassuring (and I needed a lot of reassurance!). Louise understood my case and supported my stance fully. Highly recommended.

Excellent work!
I was going through a really tough time and Louise was a massive help. She was always there to help me with whatever I needed and explained everything so well. She was also very patient and understanding through out the whole process.

Compassionate, Patient, Understanding
Going through a divorce that you don’t want is hard especially when a child is involved. Louise understood the tightrope I felt I was walking and always made sure I knew exactly what I was entitled to and helped me through the entire process.
