Employment advice

Redundancy settlement agreement
I was really pleased with how Steve dealt with my case at what was a distressing and uncertain time for me. He took the time to go through my settlement letter clause by clause, clearly explaining each one and how it impacted me. He pointed out the ones which were contentious and suggested amendments and omissions. Steve also asked a lot about what I wanted to get out of this in addition to what was on the agreement e.g. how my departure was to be announced to my former colleagues for which we drafted a suggested communication as well as the request for my 2024 bonus to be paid. I’m pleased to say that both of these were agreed by my former employer. It was all in all a very professional and thorough service that Steve provided and I would not hesitate to recommend him.

Seamless process and great guidance
Steve was incredibly knowledgeable and provided me with excellent feedback and guidance as well as points to follow up on. He followed up regularly with me. I felt that I had a few less things to worry about while working with him. It was like taking a weight off my shoulders.

Excellent service - and stunning win
I challenged a major UK university over their unlawful use of precarious fixed term contracts over many years. MSB helped with both the internal grievance and the external ACAS process. Because of the strength of the case that we assembled, there was a sharp U-turn by the institution before proceedings reached the tribunal stage. I was granted permanent status - my main aim - and the institution ordered a review of all staff. Large numbers have since been made permanent and achieved job security in light of this victory. MSB staff were a pleasure to work with, despite the obvious stress of a case of this kind, and costs were very reasonable - as well as transparent and set out fairly in advance.

Amazing!
