Richard is the Director of our Company and was admitted as a Solicitor in July 1969 after 5 years’ Articles in a major London firm, where he became a Litigation Partner. With 50 years’ experience in the legal sector he is a Grade A Band Solicitor. His family originally came from Devon and in the early 1970s he moved down to Exeter with his family and continued in practice until the late 70s when he joined a software company which specialised in IT for Solicitors. In that he was very successful and he later moved to another IT company which focussed on clever case management software for Solicitors, which was way ahead of its time. In 1993 he was an IT consultant. He married another Solicitor, Felicity, and they decided to set up their own Firm. In May 1999 they took over David Wilks & Co in Ivybridge, using the clever IT for the work. Felicity passed away in 2011, but rather than retire, Richard kept going with the Firm which has now expanded and continues to prosper. Richard is our Supervisor for all matters dealt with by the firm. He feels very lucky to have such experienced and pleasant staff and decent IT to help get things done.
