Very average. But expected for the price.
Valerie Holmes was a very mixed bag. At first it felt like great progress was being made. But then, as the process progressed, it felt like drawing blood from a stone from our assigned lawyer. As a result, we felt like we did more chasing than what would be expected.
The assistant to Michelle, Maisie, seemed significantly more proactive and gave us much fuller responses to our requests, in some cases, we’d be lucky to have received one from Michelle.
It’s hard to actually get in contact with the conveyancer, and telephone communication felt like an add-on as opposed to normality and as a result of that, we asked to speak many times to Michelle, but was left with an email response if we got one.
Michelle was very friendly, and when you can communicate with her most of the information is accurate, and they do have the clients best interests. However, it certainly shows that their systems are dated, and as a result makes the buyer feel in the dark a lot of the time. If this gets rectified, the chances are you’d feel a lot more involved passively.
It would be much more preferred if you received more regular updates, even if there’s no new changes.

Attentive & Diligent Service
We have just bought and sold and used VH for both and have been really impressed with the service we have received. Both Maisie and Stephanie were brilliant, always answering our questions timely and informatively. Maisie was so helpful and was great in always answering my questions and putting me at ease. Everyone we spoke to was helpful and they always answered emails and call promptly. Couldn’t recommend highly enough - would use again and tell others to as well.

Great Communication
Was in a chain of 3 and had Steph Boocock and Maisie Carter dealing with both our sale and our purchase. We found the communication second to none and they really guided us through the process and were always available for a chat. They were really thorough with the documentation and represented us so well. This is the second time we have used Valerie Holmes as our solicitor for purchasing a property and we wouldn’t recommend anyone else.
Thankyou so much you really took so much stress out of the process.
