Matt is a Solicitor in our Dispute Resolution department. He first began working for AFG as a paralegal in the Family Department in 2013, before starting his training contract in March 2015. Having qualified in October 2016 after seven years of training, Matt chose to practise in Dispute Resolution. He not only runs his own caseload, but also continues to assist his team with a number of complex cases, in addition to developing AFG LAW’s employment law and landlord-tenant services portfolio. Matt graduated in June 2012 from Lancaster University with a LLB (Hons) degree. Whilst at university, during his first year, he was also the recipient of the Sweet & Maxwell Law Prize after obtaining the highest examination results of any first year law undergraduate. He then went on to undertake the LPC at The University of Law in Manchester where he graduated with Distinction. Throughout his legal studies Matt gained practical experience of the law at various levels, including several work placements, judicial marshalling, a mini-pupillage, numerous pro bono activities and even spent some time helping to teach Law to A-Level students.
