A 5 Star Service
I used Thackray Williams to help me sell my late mum's house. Both the informal help and support and the professional advice I received was outstanding. Communication was never a problem and everything was done in a very timely and effective fashion. I would recommend them without hesitation.

Do Not Hire Kevin Gauntlett
Buying a flat in London is difficult enough in 2021. With changing regulations, cladding certificates, COVID considerations etc. Unfortunately, the process can be made far more difficult by a lawyer who: you can't get a hold of; doesn't appear to know any specifics about your case even seconds after being reminded of them; misspells important sections of the contract you've been waiting months for.
On a positive note: buyer and seller alike can find common ground in their pitiful experience with your lawyer, the resulting conversations of mutual exasperation can provide a bonding experience to mellow tense negotiations. Your wider family and friends, like mine, may also add the term 'Kevin Gauntlett' to their vocabulary, and begin using it as a verb in its own right in colloquial conversation: e.g. "sorry for Kevin Gauntlett-ing you like that".
Thackray Williams used to be an exemplary solicitors, indeed it may still be, but if you find yourself picking up /this/ gauntlet, prepare yourself to be billed for a long journey of frustration.

Kindness and professionalism
18 months ago my cousin passed away which left his elderly Mother “my Aunt” needing my help at a very sad and confusing time for her. In order to deal with this I sort to engage a Solicitor on her behalf. I contacted 3 Solicitors in the West Wickham area before I found what I considered to be the right choice for our case. From the moment Sophie Boxall answered my call at Thackray Williams she made me feel at ease straight away and I knew then that I had found the right person to appoint. In the coming months my relationship with Sophie was very comfortable and reassuring. Her prompt answers to my queries, her kindness and professionalism has been amazing. She is a credit to Thackray Williams and we will always be grateful to Sophie. Also we would like to thank Kevin Gauntlett in the Conveyancing department for his help and professionalism in bringing the sale of a property to a successful conclusion. We will definitely use their services again and recommend them to others without question.

Very pleased
Very pleased with the service given but did not receive a final lnvoice on payments paid to the various Consultants etc. … not sure if this is the policy though!.
