I used to chase them but never got timely reply or even an update of what is going on. I had to extend my rental for a month due to their delay and non responsive services.

they been instructed with a simple cash buy but they managed to drag it for over 2 months, they messed all the legal aspects, sent me wrong documents to sign and also private documents from a different property.
After 2 months of emails back and forth, they didn't manage to explain properly the legal aspect of the sale and hit me with over 3k in stamp duty fees, although I clearly told them many times I'm not buying as a "buy to let"
they wasted my time, the seller's time and the agency time, they have no shame, nobody bothered to ever reply to my complaints - we agreed with the seller and the agency to report them to SRA
Special mention to Ms Danielle May, one of the rudest and unhelpful people that I've ever encountered, absolutely vile!
I'm still shocked with her behaviour, ironically, a person that we paid for help and advice
Robert Johnson, who suppose to handle the complaint, didn't bother to reply, instead I just had a terrible conversation with Ms May supervisor Raeesah Dudhwala
they are all the same at Gorvins, best to avoid them!

Gorvins

The initial couple of weeks with Gorvins and setting up the app was smooth and simple.
Beyond that we received very little contact, in fact we genuinely had to beg for a response after 5 entire weeks of radio silence and deliberate attempts to avoid speaking to us over the phone.

Initially this was communication with Henry Dippnall. Our case was eventually moved entirely to Patrick McKenna which we initially felt relief over. This didn’t last.

After our mortgage broker (whom had recommended Gorvins through Broker Conveyance) made several complaints on our behalf - we received contact from Robert Johnson, a partner at the firm, apologising for the 5 week long delay directly caused by Henry Dippnall ignoring our contact. We needed to apply for a pack through the lease holder and could’ve done this 5 weeks prior had he responded.

Robert Johnson affirmed they would endeavour to close with haste so we could make up for the delay caused. He also gave me word to contact him should I become concerned again that things aren’t moving.
He then proceeded to ignore me for several weeks. Theme?
Before long it became drawing blood from a stone to receive contact from Patrick McKenna who genuinely couldn’t have sounded less irritated by simple phone calls. Whilst awaiting enquiries which we had communicated about - we asked him to please phone the other parties solicitor instead of continuing to wait for emails to which his response was “If you are unsatisfied with the service provided I will close your file without charge and ask that you re-instruct elsewhere.”

Each time they promised to deliver it fell to the wire or missed the mark. Initially the app seems really helpful and like it will provide you with an up to date timeline however it’s not updated beyond the initial steps.

Communication is impossible, rarely responded to and little to no compassion/reassurance is given.
With respect, this may be a job handling legalities but it is absolutely handling people’s lives - solicitors have an opportunity to make people’s home buying experience practical with clear communication but instead choose to create a tense environment and clients who have no choice but to complain or beg just to obtain updates.

The entire process has taken months too long, left us in tears on many occasions and completely in the dark about the progress of our buy and sale.

The titbits of information we were fed on rare occasion simply don’t suffice for a professional business to client business.

We awaited exchange, unable to pack or hire movers etc simply because we cannot gain clear communication on when it will happen. When we pressed Patrick McKenna he simply told us to stop phoning as it “delays” the process. Eventually we received an email for consent to exchange and no further communication at all.

I couldn’t recommend Gorvins less, instead I suggest you stay well away from the company unless you like no communication, a significantly longer process to move than necessary and rude, compassion-less men.

Truly, avoid at all costs.
