Hilary Buckle obtained a degree in law in 1979 from University College London and passed her Solicitors final exams the following year. She completed her training at Stephenson Harwood in the City and qualified as a solicitor in 1982. Since then, she has specialised in probate, wills and trust matters, working in Westminster and High Wycombe. After seven years in charge of a probate department, she moved to Barrett & Co where she is now senior partner, specialising in all aspects of private client work. Hilary has written articles on probate and trust matters for a national publication and lectures regularly at retirement seminars. Hilary is a member of the Thames Valley branch of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and regularly attends meetings which are a valuable means of sharing and exchanging information with other specialists, and keeping up to date with changes in the law. Hilary is also a member of Solicitors for the Elderly (SFE) and an associate member of ACTAPS (the Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists). Hilary is a school governor at a Reading school and she is also the organist at her local village Church. Her interests include theatre going, gardening, Zumba and keeping hens.

We can highly recommend this firm and in particular Hilary Buckle and her team. We approached them for assistance with a banking issue following a death. Hilary provided an excellent telephone consultation, followed by a letter to the bank to resolve our complaint. The advice was clear and comprehensive and also excellent value for money.

Honestly, I cannot begin to describe how fantastic, reliable, dependable, ethical, professional and superb value for money Barrett & Co are - and I am not normally one to gush to this extent, particularly about legal stuff!

We recently had to sort out some very complex paperwork to set up a Trust Fund. Every other solicitor quoted us an extortionate rate, but had no guidance to give us. Instead, at Barrett & Co, we have been taken by the hand and walked gently through this complex maze at a quarter of the price the other solicitors were charging. Nothing has been too much trouble for them and they don't charge extra every time they sneeze, which is frankly remarkable!

I was recommended Barrett & Co; I have now recommended them twice, and everyone I have spoken to has had a great experience of working with them.

I cannot recommend them highly enough. I will be using them for whatever legal challenges come my way in the future . . . and my husband will agree, that I am not always easy to please!!
