We had used Fieldings Porter on several occasions over the years, Wills, Trust, Conveyancing on more than one occasion. So we had spent a considerable sum of money with them. April 21, sadly our Mother passed away and and we entrusted the sale of the apartment with Fieldings Porter . Aug 21 , our buyer aborted the sale week before completion. We were charged the full amount from Fieldings Porter approx £1200 . I asked what if this happens again, reply you will be charged again the full amount. I asked if they could offer a token gesture of good will if we stayed with them, considering the business they had over the past 15 years, reply no. So taking their attitude into account, I searched for another solicitor as we still had to sell Mums apartment and I came across a Solicitor in Bolton, who not only was much more competitive on price but offered an assurance should a sale be cancelled through no fault of our own , we would not be charged. We have just completed the sale and what a difference in attitude, morals and ethics from our new Solicitor and the anxiety taken away that they would support us even if the sale fell through. Sometime Fieldings Porter it’s not always about money, but about loyalty and customer service and valuing your customers.
