A painfull process put to bed
I came into contact with Michael after my grandfather's estate and wishes were put to the test by estranged family members.
I was his main executor and main beneficiary, I was coming to terms with losing the two most important people in my life (grandparents) and all that came with the estate.
Michael had to step in and achieve ultimately what my grandad wanted after some rather troublesome contact with said estranged family.
He worded each contact perfectly, while keeping me at ease and reminding me what my options were, ultimately supporting me to the end.
One thing I can't be more grateful for is that I stated to Michael that I was dyslexic and that a lot of text was hard to absorb, so when needed he was happy to speak to me over the phone, explain his emails so that I could respond in return with an educated response.
Having the bedside manner for want of a better expression along with the grit and tenacity to get the job done is a must and I had the right guy.
I hope to soon put it behind me, and remember who this was all about but without the right support I don't know where I would be.

Deputyship Order
I instructed Michael to act for me in respect of a challenge to a Deputyship Order and my experience was first class. Incredible support during the hardest time
I honestly cannot recommend Michael highly enough. The professional and empathetic support he provided, made the most difficult time of my life, more bearable. I enlisted Michael's help when my partner died without a will. We owned a house together, and, as you would expect, our lives were inextricably linked. I did not know where I stood or what would happen, which felt very scary at a time when my world had already been turned upside down. Michael takes a holistic approach to his cases, expertly advising on the legalities but also taking account of the emotions of the situation.
After our first meeting, I immediately felt more informed on the situation and also reassured that whatever was going to happen I would have Michael in my corner to help. His communication was excellent throughout and very proactive. In the end, everything was resolved amicably but the peace of mind it gave me knowing I had Michael to help was invaluable to me. I honestly don't know how I would have coped without his advice and support. Thankyou Michael

Professional and approachable
I have never had the need to use a solicitor until now and Mr Brierley was approachable, listening to my need for a solicitor and gave honest professional advice - I trusted him throughout my dealing with him and as this was a family matter, which was difficult anyway, I was supported with clear legal advice which ultimately led to a positive conclusion- the fees were fair and I would genuinely use Michael Brierley and this firm of solicitors if I needed again. Navigated us through a complex family situation
We cannot recommend Michael highly enough. From the outset Michael understood what we wanted to achieve and worked with us. He is intelligent, thoughtful, hardworking and a true advocate. Apart from the legal issues where he brought clarity, he helped to navigate challenging people situations over a long period and did not give up. Michael has a background in psychology as well as law, which helped in achieving non-financial and financial goals.
