Dreadful experience with conveyancing

Couldn’t have had a worst service; solicitor only worked 3 days a week and then a few weeks before sale exchange the solicitor suddenly ‘took early retirement‘!! The back and forth between the other parties solicitors was painful as they had organised the queries, but this organisation didn’t, no summary form for tracking the queries. They also had a Septic Tank Questionnaire and a Solar Panel PV Questionnaire, but no Air Source Heat Pump Questionnaire, which we now know they should have had… as they hadn’t serviced it for over a year and it broke down within 5 months of moving into the property but faulty from day 1. I had to chase every question and query that was raised e.g. I had to speak to the Council Tax Department, they didn’t do any chasing up of queries. They are slow to get back to you, when asked what their standard response time to emails was, they told me within 10 working days. Horror… I want response within 1 working day! They were busy and shouldn’t have taken on all the work they had. Granted they ‘lost’ a solicitor mid way through a busy period but really they didn’t seem to care about their slow service.
