Our experience
We have been providing criminal defence services in Birmingham and the UK for more than 20 years.

Our expertise
Our criminal law expertise is reflected in our membership of the Law Society’s Criminal Litigation Accreditation Scheme, awarded only to solicitors that achieve a high level of knowledge, skills, experience and practice in this type of work.
We are also on the panel of solicitors allowed to conduct very high cost cases by the Legal Aid Agency’s complex crime unit.
Members of our team are also accredited to provide criminal advocacy services in the higher courts – Crown Court, High Court, the Court of Appeal and Supreme Court in England and Wales – by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA), by achieving and maintaining tough competency standards. Our team also includes a specialist in human rights.
Payment arrangements
We are a legal aid practice. If, however, you are not eligible for legal aid, we are able to conduct your case on a privately funded basis. All our clients receive the best possible advice and advocacy but private funding can offer more control and choice – for example, in the engagement of barristers or expert witnesses – and help your case progress more efficiently.
We always aim to be flexible in payment arrangements and can assist clients acquitted at trial or successful in an appeal to recover legal costs, payable at legal aid rates, through a Defendants’ Costs Order.

We are based in the recently refurbished McLaren Building, a city centre landmark that is only a few minutes’ walk from Birmingham’s New Street, Moor Street and Snow Hill railway stations for easy access from across the UK. We are also within a minute’s walk of the main courts.
