Numerous errors and difficult to contact
We appointed Sonia Lawrence at RLK for our FTB house purchase in January 2024, the process was held up in a small chain of 2 parties, mostly due to errors on RLK's part in not noting several documents had been received from the sellers solicitor. Arden estate agents played a major role in cajoling RLK along the process, which took 6 months. On the day of Exchange Sonia called noting she was still performing source of funds checks and could not locate our deposit, which was clearly stated on bank account statements provided at the outset of the process. The service was poor and Sonia was constantly unavailable, resulting in me having to ask another solicitor at the firm to review our file during one of her many periods of absence (which I was not notified of any pre-booked annual leave). Sonia was at times abrupt and I felt I was not appropriately supported as a client through this process. I was provided incorrect billing, which I had to check as the client as they did not recognise the error until I pointed it out. There were also many discrepancies between the TR forms provided, which held up the process for some time. Furthermore, 5 months after Completion, I have now received an email from Sonia noting they forgot to provide me with the Deed of Covenant. I have no confidence in this firm or Sonia and would not recommend appointing this firm to support any house purchase.
