Probate for my late mother's estate

George Johnston, at Mckenzie Bell did an excellent job in finalising our late mother's estate, reporting on relevant tax issues to HMRC and repatriating all assets.

Unprofessional

Terrible experience, constantly having to chase things up, harassed for information I had handed in at the start of the process, they sat on updates for 2 weeks before telling me and after I paid for the searches they waited 6 weeks before requesting them. Another occasion, they photocopied some numbered, hand written responses by myself and sent them to our developer without typing them up professionally and without any context. Shambolic.

To top things off and add to the stress, they didnt send out our completion statement until a week after we had moved and failed to tell me they had still paid my previous estate agent £1800 at completion, even though I gave them notice earlier in the process that I had terminated my contract with them. I only found this out by checking the figures in our completion statement. However, I will say after raising a complaint I did receive my money back but this should never have happened.

I do feel there was a massive lack of transparency, honesty and professional behaviour by Mckenzie Bell's at times as they were meant to safeguard me and my wife during this stressful time.

Do not recommend.

Amazing work

This is just to express my gratitude for the support, advice and being there to walk with me in the journey of acquiring my first property. It would have been very hard but because of you, everything became manageable. Thank you very much. Continue doing this amazing work you do and I am sure you will continuously receive this kind of response of how people are happy of your services.

Thank you for the work

Thank you for the work carried out with the sale (and purchase of leasehold) which has been a long running and especially trying sale and purchase. I am sure you are all as relieved as we are that it has now reached a natural conclusion.

The worst solicitor we ever used. A disaster

We have just complained about a number of matters relating to our Sale and Purchase . Unfortunatly one of the biggest mistakes weve made was to engage Mckenzie Bell for our conveyancy . Its like pulling teeth trying to move matters on and when you complain to a higher level ( Director ). They just tell you to sling your hook . Should have read other review sites first but thats life . Seriously avoid .
