I begrudge giving it 1 star

Decided to go with ICS Law to deal with a members estate who had past away.
I decided to go with ICS Law as it was easy to travel to , how I wished I had looked at reviews ! I don't understand how they are still open

They are extremely unprofessional
Something as easy as registering a property has been a complete nightmare
For nearly 2 years I was told they had sent documents off to land registry, I was constantly having to chase them for updates they would never get back in touch.

After nearly 2 years of waiting I decided to contact Land Registry myself only to find out Land Registry had actually CLOSED the registration , as they had been trying to contact Land registry themselves and heard nothing back from the solicitors!

So everytime I was ringing , emailing and actually going into the solicitors for updates and getting told they had rang Land Registry and it wouldn't be long, they where actually lying !

They then refused to acknowledge they had done anything wrong and once shown the evidence of there wrong doing (emails) , it resulted in them causing a scene and stroming off

Luckily I had witnesses to what had happened. They also refused to give me back my property, after I told them I was taking my buisness else where
I have never ever dealt with a company so unprofessional in my life . Something that should of been completed years ago , I'm now having to reapply with another solicitors
I urge anyone to really do your research on this company to see how unprofessional they are

Don't touch unless you like stress and delays

I wish I had read these reviews before I just blindly went ahead with them. However they were recommended by Pattinsons Estate Agents so I thought I'd have some degree of support. I instructed ICS to sell to properties. On the first one I lost 4 weeks because they just sad on my responses without actioning. They sent them back to me to tell me they were outstanding when they weren't. On the 2nd property I stayed all over it given my first problems but again they still managed to sit on responses for 3 weeks. By the time they were sent to the buyer, their team were then on holiday and dealing with staff shortages on their return. The response was we had to be sympathetic to his loss of staff. That's great and everything but their delays have financially hit me in the pocket - where's the sympathy for that??
Also they are now holding my completion to ransom expecting me to do last minute ID Checks (which I've already done) because ICS lost a member of staff and they won't comfortably sign my file off without doing it again - again causing inconvenience and extra costs.
JUST DON'T DO IT.... EVEN IF THEY WERE FREE ITS TOO MUCH FOR THE HASSLE & STRESS. PAY MORE AND GET SOMEONE THAT ACTUALLY SUPPORTS YOU THROUGH THE PROCESS

No Customer Care

I purchased a property over a year ago. Paid my fees at the end of the transaction and have found out when coming to sell my property that paperwork and land registry items are outstanding , impacting my sale and further purchase.

I have had no response in over 6 weeks in email and misinformation over the phone saying it’s sat with others . When I chase the council and land registry this is not the case. ICS are sitting on the information or have not responded.

Shocking when purchasing and shocking a year on. Avoid at all costs

Only get 1 * because zero is not an option.

Absolutely the worst firm I have ever had the misfortune to deal with. Constantly asking for money they had already received. Informing me my sale had fallen through when it hadn't and dragging their feet in completing. Do not use.

use another firm

we had great difficulty speaking to our conveyancer. calls were never returned and emails answered very bluntly. if they'd just answered a couple of questions we wouldn't have had to keep calling. both our estate agents found them rude and uncommunicative.

Worst experience ever M

They are so unorganised and unprofessional it is unbelievable to call the solicitors.
Never ever experienced anything like it. Lost 8 weeks of my life. To be told they will refuse to go further with the enquiry. Laughable as they didnt want to take responsabilities ????

100% perfect service

I was advised to use this firm to oversee the purchase of my home. Having purchased 3 properties I have often been left disappointed.
My experience with ICS has been nothing short of excellence. Every email has been met with a response within a working day. Clear and concise responses. My telephone calls were always responded to.
Their fee was very much good value for their service.
Thank you for all of your help. Both Audrey and Ian.
Much appreciated.

Avoid at all costs

Alison turner is the most unprofessional solicitor I ever came across. I can only wish that she endures the same treatment that she dished out to me and my family.

AVOID WITH ALL COSTS

I was unlucky to have Home Direct handled my case to this firm. The lack of communication and response from them is unbelievable. They did not take any request as urgent. Not even replying email to developer solicitors they did. That’s the level of unprofessional services they provide. If you case end up on Alison’s hands I wish you good luck! I don’t know how she become a solicitor. Important documents not being sent on time, misspelling mistakes which we had to review for her. We had to chase her to find out who to send the deposit to.. not even that we could have a reply. Very poor service but your full fees, don’t worry you will be charged!

Absolutely incompetent and rude

I dealt with Imogen who is the assistant to the director of the firm Alison who was absolutely rubbish. I called several times to try to catch up with my case and I had no call back. When I did get through there was no apology but I was told draft contracts would be sent out I didn’t trust her to do it so I asked that Alison the solicitor deal with my case. After a week of waiting I called Alison who is the director of the company to ask where the contracts were and I was fobbed off.
3 weeks after being instructed there was no draft contracts.
Alison was incredibly rude when i asked what was going on and couldn’t be less bothered about the situation but then I found out that she is leaving in July.
This company feels as if it’s doing you a favour and they can do what they want.
Absolutely rubbish and rude.
I went through Homelegal who had placed the business with ICS and also complained to them about the behaviour which resulted in Alison refusing to deal with the case and handing it back to Homelegal who didn’t even bother to tell me.
Homelegal were unhelpful and made out that it must be my fault, no support in the situation.

I suggest that you do not use Homelegal and you do not EVER use ICS
