House sale and purchase

I received fantastic service from start to finish throughout the entire process of selling my old property and purchasing my new one. Moving house is always a stressful event but having the support and hard work from both the solicitor and her secretary made it all so much easier. They worked so hard, and the communication was fantastic, always very prompt and very thorough. This was extra impressive given the fact that this was done through a pandemic and in order to meet the government stamp duty saving in place at the time of my purchase, meaning they were exceptionally busy. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them to any friends or family in the future.

Avoid at all costs

They did not respond to any questions for 6 weeks (not even an update, just nothing), and we literally never heard once from the partner handling the case from the time we instructed them until the bill arrived. When we raised the fact that basic work clearly wasn't done, they started threatening to send us a big additional bill. You don't want to get stuck with a firm like this.

Professional, friendly and kept us fully informed at all times

Lisa (conveyancing executive) and Caroline (paralegal) were a superb team, guiding us through the complicated process that buying and selling property in England entails. We were always kept informed as to progress on both transactions and, when our buyer was asking seemingly obtuse questions, they were quick to provide suggestions on how to consider proceeding. Even before the completion date of our purchase, they provided appropriate confirmations as we sought insurance cover and parking permits prior to our move. We would highly recommend them.

Professional, reliable and helpful

We have worked with Galloway Hughes LLP for two house moves over recent years, to include both purchasing and property sale. Each time we found them to be helpful and very professional. In particular, Louise guided us through what became a complicated process with expert knowledge and reassurance for our most recent purchase. We are confident in their ability to complete the process in a calm and timely manner, and we will use their services again for our next property sale.

Always available, responsive and professional

It's the 3rd time we are using Aisling services at Galloway Hughes LLP. I can't recommend her and the team enough. She is always very responsive to emails and over the phone which is especially helpful in stressful times of transactions.
She is very professional, explains clearly the facts and risks and always looks for the best forward.
I wouldn't hesitate to use their services again for any other transaction.

Excellent - used multiple times

We have now used Galloway Hughes in Esher on two home purchases and they have been excellent on both occasions. They are very responsive, and equally thorough. During our second sale Louise in the Esher office, along with Becky dealt with it so efficiently. We had a rather stressful situation where after exchange the bottom of the chain were not able to complete on the agreed date and Louise guided us through this very stressful situation. I have recommended Galloway Hughes to my sister and a number of friends who have also used them over the past few years with zero complaints.

unresponsive

Paid the deposit after agreeing to use them for a lease extension. 3 months have passed and I cannot get through to anyone that can help. I have been promised call backs and they never come. I have also had no response to emails sent. DO not use this company if possible.

Experts for complex or outdated leases

Lisa Heeks at Galloway Hughes was a star when it came to navigating the complexities that arose during the process of selling my flat. Lisa was tenacious with my freeholder's solicitor yet always polite and - most importantly - she kept the pressure on so that we didn't lose momentum. She was contactable throughout, which was extremely important to me during this very long process. I don't we'd have got the flat sale/onward purchase over the line without Lisa pushing so hard for us. Thank you, Lisa!

Gets it done’

Buying my first property and in need of a solicitor the things I heard from others was that you always had to chase them and no one seemed to know a good one. Then I was recommended Louise at Galloway Hughes. She was fantastic - she got things done as quickly as possible without chasing, and put up with my persistent emails towards the end without complaint! I’d recommend to anyone.
