Merrils Ede were hired in early 2021 to process my late mother's estate. They did not follow all my instructions, failed to communicate said instructions within the firm, persistently failed to spell my mother's and my names correctly which led to further problems in recovering funds from banking institutions, they retained vital documents which they still hold now despite having been asked to return them over a year ago, and have still failed to respond to my letter of complaint sent in October 2022. Their excuse for not dealing the complaint? "It's a long letter". They also overcharged me, made errors in their accounting, and lied, stating that one task had been completed when I had evidence to the contrary. The legal ombudsman, to whom I complained on 9 January 2023, have still not assigned an investigator.
