Matter RefC23701 Re Auction purchase in Wymondham

Having no experience in purchasing property in the United Kingdom I was delighted and by chance to meet Protima Sikdar-Wood at Spire Solicitors in Wymondham, Norfolk. I found her to be professional and clear and extremely helpful. Due to such short notice she also instructed her secretary Alison Crysell to keep me informed at every step and even went the extra mile to do so.

OUTSTANDING SERVICE

I have been using the Wymondham office of Spire solicitors for some fifty years. Recently, the partner I have mainly used during that time, has unfortunately retired. This occurred just as i needed a new tenancy agreement to be drawn up for one of my commercial properties. As a result, Roger Margand of their Norwich office took charge of the matter which he proceeded to deal with knowledgably and expeditiously. Throughout this process i was impressed by Roger's determination to do what was in my best interests and i look forward to working with him again.

Lovely and helpful receptionist but an extremely rude secretary. I was simply asking for an email address on behalf of my mother and to be shouted at in an aggressive manner and to be told I’m not listening reflects badly on this business. Very disappointed

Abysmal - we didn't employ these solicitors for our house sale, but sadly our buyers did (Dereham branch). What should have been a straightforward purchase went on for 6 months due to this company. The work was assigned to a paralegal, not a fully qualified solicitor and she was obviously out of her depth. Delay after delay, pointless hold ups, mistakes, severe lack of communication (including with their own clients). Incompetence to the point that our own solicitor and the estate agent were tearing their hair out. A week of holiday and a week of illness by the paralegal caused the sale to be held up because no one at the company took up the slack. When our estate agent and solicitor tried to chase them up as they weren't communicating or replying to urgent queries, they accused both of them of bullying and pressurising and then went into silence for days! When they were told by the estate agent and our solicitor that mistakes were being made, they refused to listen. So unprofessional! I can't even begin to describe the stress it put our family under and the strain it put on the chain, almost causing the collapse of the sale on multiple occasions. The estate agent stated they will never work with this firm again, and any sellers/purchasers who try to use them will be advised not to. I think that speaks volumes. If you can find another firm for your house sale, do it (unless you're a very patient type who's prepared to be stuck in your house for an indeterminate amount of time and thrive on stress). Avoid.
