Advice and. witness me signing a document I took in

After taking a document in for Simon to advise me on and witness me sign. He told me it needed a few alterations with the other solicitor and would cost £750 and they would let me know if it was going to be much difference. After completing the contract and signing it with no bother I paid the £750 when I signed it. I was quite suprised when I received his terms and conditions with a bill for another £492 after we had completed it. I sent a message to ask if he would take less as he said £750. He never replied so I paid it within 2 week then i didn't get chared intrest. Then when I got a message 6 week after paying in full asking me to pay it all it annoyed me again.so I wrote this review. I feel like he just after as much money as he can get off you.

Statutory Declaration

I needed a Statutory Declaration, already had the document drafted. Rung up, got an appointment, went in, got it signed, was a 5 minute job. Costed me £5, Simon, the person who signed this, opted to not sign the whole document. The last 3 lines he left blank, saying he "they shouldn't need that information".

I sent the document and turns out, they did. He said if I had any problems to call him back. So I did. So we had 4-5 one sentence email replies, literally nothing extensive, just saying there's problem.

Now I went back and got RE-CHARGED to sign the form AGAIN. I had to PAY for SIMONS mistake. It was absolutely ridiculous. I followed his advice, it was wrong and I paid the price. Absolute penny poacher.

It cost me £10 extra to pay for his mistake. His explained this took "quite some more time", he had sent "4-5 emails" and "had to make some ammendments to the document" and no, no he didn't. His "ammendments" was putting my full name and address in certain fields. Oh and writing down that his qualification was a soliictor on the three extra lines. The three extra lines he DID NOT sign were his name qualification and address it was signed at. These weren't even things he wouldn't have known signing it the first time. I thought it'd be something more complicated, it wasn't. It took him so much more time to remember his occupation, the address and his own name.

You'd almost think he didn't sign those lines on purpose, so he could re-charge me again. It's ridiculous. And this is something absolutely minor, I would not trust Simon with ANYTHING more serious at all. He'll make you pay for his mistakes and it'll likely be a lot more costly than my measly £10 extra in comparison.
