I was very happy indeed with the service and was reassured at every step of the way. The advice and attention to detail was extremely high from Eleanor Parkes and she kept in touch with me throughout my situation.

Family law and divorce

Over the course of two and a half years, I was assisted by three Debenham's Ottaway solicitors. The solicitor whom I worked with the longest has now left the firm. My matter has not been resolved and I am disappointed in the loss of time and money. All solicitors I worked with have something in their bio that says that they have experience with abusive situations. It took two years to reach agreement by consent regarding the finances, only to have them rejected at court. I now believe a solicitor with true experience in abusive situations would approach this differently. If I had contested the finances after sixth months of negotiations, I would have spent far less money and had a settlement now. After a third time of different judges rejected our financial order by consent the judge suggested that neither of us had legal representative who were able to write an acceptable order. My child matters settlement is still on going, though I think this is partly due to the idiosyncracies of the judge in question,

I appreciated my solicitors quick response times to me. I was glad they did not make ad hominum arguments or speak rudely about my ex-partner. However, I feel the value for money was terrible, as was the value for time.

Theo Knibb was very helpful when I initially rang to enquire about Wills Trusts & Power of Attorneys. As our situation was more complex than most we liked the fact that there were other specialists within Debenhams Ottoways. Theo guided us through our setting up of Wills Trusts & Power of Attorneys giving us advice & help along the way. Although expensive to pay out for it is money well spent to get the advice & expertise needed that Theo provided for our Wills Trusts & Power of Attorneys to be drawn up. We would certainly recommend Debenhams Ottaways & Theo in particular.
