Collected on:

Poor, unsympathetic experience.

From my first email - ignored until I followed up - to the "welcome" at Bells office in Romsey (if you have ever seen Monty Python, it rather resembles one of their sketches - ring the old-fashioned bell and a hatch opens...!) the service from Bells has been very poor. Considering we were dealing with the death of my father, there was no sympathy. In fact, my first interaction with them after his death was a bill and now matters are finally closed, they returned dad's death certificate with a note which simply said "Returning Mr XXXX death certificate as we no longer have need for it".
Very uncaring, very unprofessional, very parochial and the only person who showed me any kind of humanity was Jilly Topps, one of the secretaries, so a big thank you to her.

Professional and friendly

We used Victoria Salisbury at Bell’s for conveyancing on our first house purchase. They dealt with everything including applying for help to buy ISA and putting on land registry. Frequent updates and easy to contact, very reasonable charges. We were very pleased, especially in the middle of a global pandemic with the stamp duty rules changing! Would definitely recommend.
