Exposing Cooper Lingard Solicitors: Preying on Vulnerable Clients

Exposing Cooper Lingard Solicitors: Preying on Vulnerable Clients and Their Families
In recent months, troubling allegations have surfaced against Cooper Lingard Solicitors, a legal firm based in Southend-on-Sea. Accusations of practices have cast a shadow over the firm, with numerous complaints highlighting a pattern of exploitation aimed at vulnerable clients, particularly the elderly and those suffering from dementia.

Preying on Vulnerable Clients
Several clients have reported that Cooper Lingard Solicitors have taken instructions from individuals with dementia, often without following the correct procedures to ensure informed consent. This predatory behavior capitalizes on the cognitive impairments of these vulnerable individuals, who are frequently unable to fully comprehend the legal processes or the implications of the decisions being made on their behalf. Such practices not only raise serious legal and moral concerns but also undermine the integrity of the legal profession.

Overcharging and Exploitation
In addition to their approach, Cooper Lingard Solicitors have been accused of grossly overcharging for their services. Families of elderly clients have reported exorbitant fees for minimal and substandard legal work. This exploitation exacerbates the emotional and financial strain on families who are already navigating the challenges of caring for their loved ones.

Numerous Bad Reviews
The firm has accumulated numerous negative reviews online, with clients consistently voicing their dissatisfaction with the quality of service. Many reviews highlight issues such as poor communication, lack of professionalism, and unfulfilled promises, further illustrating a troubling pattern of behavior that potential clients should be wary of.

Ignored Complaints and Obstruction
Despite numerous complaints lodged against the firm, Cooper Lingard Solicitors have shown a blatant disregard for addressing these concerns. Clients who have attempted to file formal complaints about overcharging and practices have been met with indifference. Moreover, those seeking to terminate their contracts and transfer their cases to more reputable firms have faced obstruction and delays, further compounding their distress.

The Fight to Inform the Public
Efforts to bring these issues to light and inform the residents of Southend-on-Sea about Cooper Lingard Solicitors' practices are ongoing. Advocacy groups and concerned citizens are rallying to raise awareness and protect the community from further exploitation. Readers are encouraged to share their own experiences and post reviews to help others make informed decisions when selecting a legal firm.

Conclusion
The allegations against Cooper Lingard Solicitors underscore a pressing need for greater oversight and accountability within the legal profession. As the fight to expose these practices continues, it is imperative for the community to stay informed and vigilant. No family should have to endure the heartbreak of seeing their loved ones taken advantage of by those entrusted to protect their legal interests.

The residents of Southend-on-Sea deserve better, and the call for justice and ethical legal representation must be heard.

Incompetent

Misdrafted a relative's will resulting in loss of £200,000 to the estate and then lied about it and trying to reclaim the money from beneficiaries. Legal Ombudsman made unprecedented award against them and they still will not admit their basic error. Still advertising as experts in wills and probate. Charlatans.

Excellent

James Baker dealt with our (abortive) conveyancing. I found him to be very professional and efficient in his advice and was kept up to date on matters progressing. Unlike some other solicitors I have dealt with, he was personable and approachable and always made himself accessible if I ever telephoned the office. Would certainly recommend.

TERRIBLE

Unprofessional, rude, arrogant! These are the only words to describe a Company that does not respond to e-mails or respond to the complaints procedure as set out in their own "Code of Conduct". Service is non existent. They took 5 years salary from an intestacy estate, during which time, benefactors were sent one letter notifying them of very little. Sandra Lanaway was very dismissive of my original complaint and has been very unprofessional in not responding to my requests to provide copies of invoices from a particular company. Nor has she responded to my official complaint.

Exceptional local firm

I have used Cooper Lingard on many occasions since we were introduced in 2006.

I can highly recommend Sandie Lanaway for most matters. Especially family and employment. She is pragmatic and has a very direct approach, supporting her clients with a great deal of knowledge and wisdom.

I have worked with Richard Phillips on a complex real estate deal and found his steady lead to be the rock I came to rely upon.

I have worked with various other colleagues at the firm, and all I recommend .

It is important to be able to trust a solicitor and allow them to remove emotion from the situation.

Rude

My husband and I went into their offices this morning—have used them in the past and they did and hold our wills—we had to wait f or the receptionist to show up—no problem—not long—I was then about half way thru my question when the phone rang—excuse me she says—LEAVES US STANDING THERE—and takes the call. We bothered to go in—and that is the “respect” she shows us—
Why on earth would we ever bother to go back?? WE WON’T
