Originally, effectively, serviced by "Ann Pointer Solicitors", when more work was required it was found that they had been taken over by CWC. I chose to continue to work with the same specific solicitor. Work commenced, slowly, and a bundle of documents were dropped off as requested. Days later I discovered that The specific solicitor was no longer working with CWC. Her duties were taken over by a Mr . Mr clearly didn't have the same familiarity with the case and seemed to spend his time split between two offices. The work took a very long time but was eventually completed although with hindsight there were a few questions. The work was being paid for by a third party so I needed an invoice which I had to difficulty in getting, but did finally arrive. At this point I expected my document pack back, but CWC were unable to return it. The pack contained numerous documents, some of potential consequence. The pack wasn't returned so I didn't pay the invoice. Nothing happened. No requests or demands for payment and no documents. I considered this lack of contact to be an acknowledgement of responsibility so forgot about the matter. 2 years later I get a demand for payment. No documents, no apology, no concilliation, nothing. My position was clearly stated - produce the documents and I will pay immediately. It got heated. Some how, I had to pay, in order to get them to look for my documents, documents that they had declared lost and still no concilliation except to be expected to accept someones word that they would "look". I paid, but I am still waiting for the documents.....The lack of understanding and reasonable behaviour could never allow me to recommend this company. When your customer is "wronged", it is inappropriate to treat them without a contrition.
