Completion day failure

We engaged Progression solicitors to sell our business in Cumbria and a few weeks later, engaged a local solicitor to purchase our new house in Lancashire.
Whilst we had complaints about the service we received, many of which we put in writing during the process, their actions on completion day were disastrous!
Progression solicitors refused to pay into the chain for the purchase, insisting that all of the money had to be transferred to our personal account first - despite our concerns that this would cause delays.
On completion day, they informed us that they were transferring the money to our personal account at 11.48am but failed to do so. After many frantic phone calls the money was eventually transferred after 3pm and it reached our account after 5pm. This caused the whole chain to collapse – a nightmare for all concerned.
To date, we have received no explanation or apology for this totally avoidable situation.
