Steer clear.
Steer clear. We hired Pictons for conveyancing. Very slow to draft the contract, only gave us updates when we pushed them, the documents had mistakes and they became evasive when questioned. We were eager to complete the sale just to get rid of them.

Obtuse, Slow, Entirely Unsatisfactory
We hired Pictons to process the sale of my late grandmother's house to a cash buyer. The experience was nothing short of painful. Although the legal procedure was a relatively simple one, they had to be constantly prodded to get on with the paperwork, and we were forever having to chase them for updates. More often than not, the employee assigned to our case was simply unavailable. It's a wonder the conveyancing was ever completed. For the rate we were paying, one would at least expect a decent service, if not an excellent one. To add insult to injury, once the sale finally went through, Pictons charged us an additional fee to transmit the funds to our nominated account immediately, despite being told explicitly that we did not want this option. When we complained and tried to get the money charged on this additional fee back, they simply ignored us. Outrageously poor service, and very little value for our money.

Appalling experience with this firm
Appalling experience with this firm. They said they would charge a certain amount as a pre-payment at first meeting then charged double with no explanation. When contemplating suicide they said "we can do a will for you".
Made a complaint to the Legal Ombudsman and instead of awaiting outcome, decided to go ahead with a claim for fees allegedly owed (three figures).

Excellent experience

I had my mortgaged dealt with by a solicitor of the firm and for me it was and quick. Didn't wait for them too much in fact everything went smoothly. I will use them again for this or any other legal problem it might arise in the future.

Review Of A Lease
This review is for a different branch.
I ran through the initial consultation with a legal advisor, who seemed to understand my needs regarding the lease on a flat. Waited over a week and heard nothing, chased and the received the wrong service agreement. Complained and had to chase again. I was then told they needed to wait for a review by a senior solicitor, still responded with the wrong requirements.
Had then to call again, and got through to the unqualified solicitor who attended the initial meeting who eventually declined to do the work
