I had planned on purchasing a new build flat in the Reading town centre and the estate agent recommended EJ Winter and Son LLP. From start to finish they delivered an efficient and extremely helpful service.

My main contact was Jamie Wren who helped me understand the finer details of leasehold properties and the potential risks of buying over a four-month period. He was extremely thorough in pressing the building developer for answers to my queries while also being firm over the dangers of architect certificates and the lesser protection they offer to leaseholders.

I withdrew from the purchase in the end based on personal and professional circumstances, avoiding a great deal of potential risk and lost investment as a single first-time buyer. A lesser solicitor may have skirted around problems with a leasehold flat or missed out the finer legal details.

EJ Winter and Son only charged for their services up to the point of completion, an honest and transparent approach that other firms may not follow. In short, I can't recommend them enough.
