Excellent service

On the 23rd May, Lydia Etheridge represented me in Oxford Magistrates Court.
Lydia explained my options thoroughly, and I felt well informed when it came to what I pleaded.
In Court Lydia was extremely good; I could not fault anything she said on my behalf. Lydia sought a Conditional Discharge, and that was the Magistrate's decision.
I now have Lydia's card, and should I need legal advice I know who I will call.
Many thanks for all your work, Melanie Mackenzie-Aird

If you would like a solicitors that does there job well, Sadly I would advise going elsewhere. My husband went to smq in 2020 after being advised they were the best. He was put onto Shelby, contact &calls were few & far between, she made phone appointments with my husband but never followed through with them, when he contacted smq to find out why the call appointment did not go ahead he was given various different reasons, 2 different ones on the same day infact. (One individual from smq when he called them told him she was in court allday and then 10 minutes later another person told him she was on another call in office) this happened constantly appointment would be made but never happened &he was always given different reasoning and when he called to find out why the appointment was not followed but was advised his case was being handled. my husband and I in the meantime kept emailing Shelby items related to the case despite the lack of contact. weeks before his case was up in court. He received phone call from smq to say that Shelby no longer worked there and they needed all the information for his case urgently. I forwarded everything but it was a challenge as we believed when we gave it to the firm the first time it was in safe hands. His case started in court not long after (2weeks) and it came to light that when they accessed Shelby file on my husband case there was in fact nothing there on the drive and that was why smq needed everything resent again urgently. After that my husband case started in court everything was rushed, everyday we were asked for new piece of evidence items we did not have with us at the time, bare in mind we lived hundreds of miles away from Oxford we could not access the items required as they were at home causing frustration, we provided everything we could but the case did not go to plan and my husband was remanded in prison in July of this year. Smq said they would appeal and that was the last he has heard nothing more of his appeal since then, Infact since then he has tried over and over to try to get in contact with his solicitor and has had only two forms of contacts with smq one letter to say court date was adjourned and that was only after Icontacted smq to say my husband needed to speak to someone as he had no contact from smq since he was remanded and felt he was being left to rot (his words) and he wanted an update and needed help as he was struggling severely not knowing what was happening with his appeal and after that then one video call 4 weeks later. That was at the start of august and since then he has had no contact at All. I contacted smq on his behalf again and was told to pass on the solicitors number to him. He has tried to contact smq through staff member only to be told someone will need to call him back which is very difficult considering where he is. He has also had me forward messsges and email from him asking for smq to get in contact with him and has since then sent various letters to smq office and still has had no responses to anything. He was back in court last week with no legal team and no response from smq in any shape or form I understand the barristers strikes are making this difficult but a client deserves to be treated fairly and have some contact. The way my husbands been treated is truly appalling and I will now be taking it further. So my advice again to anyone looking to have smq as there legal team I would advice going elsewhere.
