With over four decades of legal expertise, Susan Alexander is a distinguished solicitor specialising in family law, collaborative law, and mediation. Susan joined MSB in 2024 from another Chester based family team, but her career in law actually started further afield in Scotland. Admitted as a solicitor in Scotland in 1981, Susan quickly established herself as a formidable advocate, gaining the nickname “Queen of the Ordinary Court”. Susan rapidly advanced and swiftly became a full equity partner at Russells, where she led the firm’s family law practice, representing high-profile clients and earning a stellar reputation in the field. A founding member of the Family Law Association in Scotland, Susan’s influence extends beyond her practice. She was appointed by the Sheriff Principal in several critical roles, including ‘curator ad litem’ and ‘safeguarder,’ advocating for children and those lacking capacity in court proceedings. Her work in family law is both comprehensive and compassionate, encompassing everything from complex divorce and financial remedy cases to child abduction, surrogacy, and human rights issues.
