Recent case settlements: Rothera Bray’ Serious Injury Solicitor Greg Almond recently settled a case for a client involved in a road traffic accident, resulting in her requiring amputation of her leg below the knee and ultimately being awarded £1,950,000 in damages. Ms W suffered a fractured leg in three places and severe soft tissue injuries following a Road Traffic Accident. The Defendant driver collided with Ms W while she was stood at the rear of her vehicle. Due to the severity of the impact and seriousness of her injuries, reconstruction of her leg was not possible and so, a below the knee amputation took place. After we had obtained and served extensive evidence in support of our client’s claim the Defendant’s insurers offered £1,700,000 in full and final settlement. Following further negotiations our Head of Personal Injury and Serious injury solicitor Greg Almond, negotiated an increased settlement of £1,950,000. Greg said, ‘It was extremely satisfying to recently settle Ms. W’s case. Ms. W suffered life changing injuries due to a road traffic accident. ‘Following our instruction, we immediately secured several significant interim payments and we arranged via the case manager a 4-week residential rehabilitation program. A new suitable adapted vehicle was also purchased providing our client with much needed independence. ‘Expert evidence was obtained. Following extensive negotiations a significant settlement was secured allowing our client to fund her ongoing care requirements and purchase a new suitable property’.

Injury Claim

5

On Saturday 19th June 2021 I had an accident at work so I had to have 10 weeks off on sick so I decided to make an injury claim against my place of work so I rang Rothera Solicitors & spoke to a young lady & gave her my details & I explained everything to her & she said once she had spoken to her manager she would ring me back & let me know if they would take on my claim, she rang me back the same afternoon & said yes they would & so it began.

I used Rotheras in relation to personal injury claim. As you might imagine, having to deal with the trauma of the accident, trying to make a recovery and then on top putting in a claim is highly stressful. But both Greg Almond and Rebecca Howard were fantastic in providing support through the process and also helping me to rebuild my body and my life. Thank you.
