Great service from NJP Solicitors. I dealt with Natalie and she was helpful, professional and gave good, fair unbiased advice. The fees were very reasonable and I would definitely use them again.
Thanks Darren 😊

Initial meeting
Natalie was very friendly, warm, approachable and professional in her discussion with me - very much appreciated when the topic is so grim. I gained clarity about my situation and I have great confidence in her advice, given her vast experience in this area of law.

Utterly compassionate, utterly professional, completely friendly
From start to finish, my first impressions of NJP, the staff, and Natalie are absolutely top rate. Friendly, personable, understandable, and professional. I've worked with Solicitors before, and none have been as upfront, straight forward, or as understandable as NJP. Well done, and thank you.

Poor experience
1. Preparation: The solicitor never came to any meeting prepared. It felt like she didn't have any idea what was going on in my case. It was always me who came prepared to the meetings and fed her in. As a result, I hardly got any guidance from her. The whole idea of having a solicitor is to get the right guidance, without that there is no point having a solicitor. For 2 years we kept on discussing a couple of points related to finance, but it felt like she never understood the point. It's not an issue if she didn't understand the points, my issue is that for 2 yrs we kept on discussing and she kept pretending that she understood the point. After 2 yrs. she asked an absolutely fundamental question on that point. I don't understand if her own concept on that point is not clear how she is going to convince the other party on my behalf. Also due to these behaviour the overall cost of the case increases.
2. Incorrect documentation: documents produced by NJP were inaccurate. After getting a similar experience couple of times, I started creating, and maintaining most of the documents by myself. It is very annoying when I had to produce all the documents by myself and also had to pay for the same work to NJP.
3. planning, and schedule: in my 2.5 yrs experience with NJP there was not a single meeting/email where I was told what should my next step/ action plan etc. Not sure, if there was any target schedule.
4. communication: the majority of the communication happens via the assistant who doesn't have any knowledge of the case. I don't have any issue communicating via someone if I am not charged more because of that. But on multiple occasions, communication was lost in transit or the answer I could have got by 1 email it needed multiple emails. All of these increase the overall cost.
All the above issues could be due to a lack of skilled resources in the organisation or too much work to be delivered by a small number of people. Whatever be the case, customers shouldn't get suffered by this as they are paying the required fee for the service.

Thank you for your feedback. The solicitor is always prepared for meetings, however, on occasion progress can be hindered by a lack of communication, as clients may opt to limit contact to manage costs. Unfortunately, without clear and consistent instructions, it becomes challenging to move forward effectively. Cases continuously evolve, and fundamental changes often arise as new information is provided by both sides. This is a natural part of the legal process and does not reflect a lack of preparation or understanding by the solicitor. When you “came prepared to meetings and fed her in” this was simply you providing us with necessary instructions, which is both appropriate and essential in all cases. A solicitor cannot act independently without clear instructions from the client. Regarding documentation, changes and updates occur because cases are constantly evolving. It is important to note that when parties disagree on key documents needed to resolve the case, those documents remain under revision until an agreement is reached. Further, there is no requirement for clients to prepare their own documents, especially those that need to be sent to other parties or to court. Clients are only asked to approve correspondence and update schedules with agreed figures. “Communication the majority of the communication happens via the assistant who doesn't have any knowledge of the case”. Most solicitors are supported by assistants and paralegals to enhance efficiency. You are correct that assistants do not have legal knowledge of cases; our clients are aware that all legal advice is only provided by the Solicitor. Your assumption regarding resources and workload is unfounded, and not accurate. We regret to hear that, over the course of 2.5 years, you felt there was a lack of clarity regarding next steps and action plans. It is unfortunate that this issue was not raised earlier, as we would have been happy to address it in one of the many meetings or email exchanges we had during this period. We appreciate your valuable feedback and are continually striving to improve our services for our clients. Although your review is anonymous, we welcome the opportunity to discuss your concerns further if you wish.
