Trainee Solicitor at Jones Whyte Law Ltd

Nicola Kane

Trainee Solicitor

Nicola graduated from the University of Strathclyde in 2021 with her undergraduate degree and Diploma in Legal Practice and began her legal career with Jones Whyte in 2022. Initially Nicola started at Jones Whyte as a case handler in the Trust Management department. She was allocated client case files that had previously been the responsibility of another firm, that firm having entered administration. This role allowed Nicola to demonstrate her communication skills, effectively progressing client cases, ensuring that their Family Protection Trust(s) were efficiently completed. This role also allowed Nicola to expand her knowledge and understanding of Trust(s), an area she now feel competent to work within. She has now transferred to the Personal Injury department within Jones Whyte as a trainee solicitor, an area of the business that has enabled her to progress in a different direction. It has provided Nicola with the opportunity to develop and vary her responsibilities, which includes, assisting solicitors in progressing clients personal injury claims, communicating directly with clients, taking precognitions, drafting court documents and reviewing records. “The most rewarding part of my job is being part of a team that provides a satisfactory result to clients that have sought help from Jones Whyte.”
