Sona Chandarana

Sona is an Associate Solicitor who specialises in Childcare Law and represents parents, family members and children in care proceedings. She has extensive experience in cases involving non-accidental injuries, neglect, sexual abuse and adoption. Sona has full conduct of her cases and undertakes the majority of her own advocacy. She has experience in representing clients in complex and contested hearings before Magistrates', District Judges, Circuit Judges and High Court Judges. Sona is an Accredited Member of the Law Society’s Children Panel. Sona has many years of experience in all aspects of Family law. She can advise and represent clients in private law proceedings including child arrangement orders for residence, prohibited steps, specific issue and contact. Sona has also represented parents and family members in special guardianship applications. Having largely practised in Family Law, Sona has experience in Mental Health Law where she represented vulnerable adults in tribunal hearings. She also practised in Criminal Law and was an accredited police station representative. Sona fluently reads, writes and speaks Gujarati and also communicates in Hindi.
