The service provided was absolutely exceptional and if you’re looking for a solicitor who goes above and beyond, look no further! From day one the communication was amazing, always available to answer any questions and addressed any concerns I had with a calming manner making the process totally stress free. Amazing! Would highly recommend and will using again!
As first-time buyers, my partner and I were understandably nervous about the process of buying our first home, but working with Matthew and his assistant, Ella, has made all the difference. Our broker recommended Matthew to us, and I’m so, so glad we followed that advice!
From start to finish, Matthew and Ella were incredible. They kept us fully updated throughout every step, guiding us patiently through the whole process and taking the time to answer all our questions, no matter how small. Incredibly, we completed within 10 weeks of putting in our offer—something I never thought would happen so smoothly. It’s clear that Matthew and Ella work tirelessly for their clients, and despite their busy schedules, we always felt we had their full attention.

Excellent service for house sale
We have just experienced the fastest and smoothest house sale imaginable! The service from Butcher and Barlow has been first rate, as has the communication. Everything has been dealt with promptly by Ella and Matthew. We would highly recommend!

Matt Watson, house purchase
I engaged with this company in order to have legal representation for the purchase of a property and also, to support with the buy out of an existing property.
Matt Watson was appointed as my solicitor to act on my behalf and I have been blown away by his dedication, support and timeliness throughout the whole process.
Matt completely went above and beyond throughout. He was always available for me to ask (mostly silly) questions and nothing was ever too much trouble. Having never purchased a house alone before, some of the documentation and requirements for me were confusing. Matt answered all of my questions promptly with nothing but support and reassurance.
In addition to this, I know that Matt also worked outside of his business hours to progress my case. There were a lot of moving parts with my particular case as I had my purchase as well as needing to be bought out of my current property. Matt made the synchronisation between parties look like an absolute breeze. I was always kept up to speed with any movements on my case and I even had documentation completed and sent to me for signing on a Sunday! I know for certain that not many solicitors would do the same.
In the end, the whole process took about 8 weeks which to me, is a huge achievement. Matt has exceeded my expectations at every stage and I can't thank him enough for his time, patience and support throughout what is quite a stressful event!
I would come back and use this company, and specifically Matt, every single time it was required and would have no hesitation in recommending him to family and friends.

Exceptional service from Butcher and Barlow
I recently had the opportunity to work with Butcher and Barlow for the transfer and re-mortgage of my house, and I cannot speak highly enough of the service I received. My case was particularly challenging as I had been dealing with the probate (via another solicitor) of my grandfather's will for nearly three years. The process had been painfully slow, causing significant delays and frustration.
Once the house had finally been transferred into joint names, Matt stepped in and helped me navigate the process of buying out my brother's share of the property. His involvement was transformative.
From the moment Matt came on board, there was a noticeable change in the pace and efficiency of the process. His professionalism, dedication, and expertise were evident as he swiftly handled the legal intricacies involved in the transfer and re-mortgage. Selling my property
I instructed Butcher and Barlow to sell my property and have to say the service they gave me was outstanding. What should of been a simple transaction proved to be really difficult due to the buyers solicitor, this was no reflection on Butcher and Barlow at all, they kept my informed on progress and responded to all of my questions when I asked them. Ella Woodie was my main contact and found her to be polite, helpful and understanding of my frustrations. I will certainly use Butcher and Barlow again for my future purchases and sales.

Hassle Free Conveyancing
Butcher and Barlow dealt with the legalities regarding the sale of my old house and purchase of my new home. It was quite a convoluted affair involving banks and receivers. We got there in the end, and Butcher and Barlow, and Mathew in particular from the Bramhall office deserve much praise. The service I received was reasonably priced and thoroughly professional, a straight 10/10 from me.

Matthew was amazing!
We found Matthew at Butcher and Barlow to be professional and a clear communicator. I had very little knowledge of what we needed to sort out and Matthew made sure I understood everything. Emails were responded to promptly and Matthew went above and beyond to sort out our move.
Should we be moving in the future, we will be seeking him out again!

House Purchase
I strongly recommend Butcher and Barlow as expert conveyancers. They were prompt, proactive and professional at all times. In particular I was impressed at how efficient they were in securing the searches from the Local Authority at a time when LAs are under severe pressure. I wouldn't hesitate to make use of their services in future.
