Divorce proceedings
Having had to part ways with my previous solicitor at the point of negotiating my divorce settlement, it was a godsend to be recommended Mel by a former colleague. Mel helped me navigate a particularly difficult time, both in terms of clarity of the direction we should take and the realistic outcome I should expect. There were a lot of moving parts to the divorce, which Mel made easy to understand and navigate. Mel was also very responsive, turning around high quality advice and documentation in very short timeframes, which was in stark contrast to my previous experience.
I would highly recommend Mel to anyone who needs legal support in this area.

Would highly recommend!
Mel is a fantastic solicitor, extremely personable, kind and knowledgeable, putting myself and my Husband at ease within minutes of us meeting.
Our issue was resolved and it was great to have guidance and support from Mel throughout. The service we received from Birkett Long was fantastic and we will be using them again in the future.

Divorce matters
I was very pleased with the professional and expedient service provided by Birkett Long. I found that Philip and Mel handled my case with absolute professionalism. There was a point at which Philip was away and Mel took over and the transition seemed seamless and everything continued very smoothly, efficiently and expediently without my having to go through everything again. The whole process allowed us to resolve things very amicably and achieve the result we both needed. I would have no hesitation in recommending Birkett Long in matters of family law. Matrimonial Matters
Melanie Loxley has been clear, concise and caring in all matters concerning my case.
She kindly saw me face to face during the Covid pandemic which was really helpful.
Her response times have been exceptional and helpful - in fact they exceeded my expectations.
In her absence during leave, a colleague took my call and assisted me with my enquiry.
Julie has actioned posting letters swiftly and been diligent to organsing paperwork.
I would have no hesitation to recommend Melanie in the future.
If my cases needs reopening, I will return to the services offered at Birkett Long.
It's been a pleasure working with her during a very difficult matrimonial period.
